How would you be able to abuse it? I've heard this same argument before and it makes no sense to me. Let's say someone creates 5 accounts to tip themselves. Doesn't that just mean they're sending all their money to Tapas just to get that same amount of money back? Sounds like a circle to me.
Are you telling me if I create 5 accounts and pay $50 to Tapas to buy $50 worth of coins just to send to myself, I'll make $300? Even if this was the case, anybody could abuse the system as long as they have tipping enabled. A person with only 20-30 subs doesn't have more capabilities of abusing this so called system than someone with a 250 sub mark.
> I'm sure this isn't the answer you want, but it's the best I can offer you right now.
You're right, it isn't, though I don't necessarily blame you for that either. I think this just goes to show how absurd this rule is and how its not really even enforced properly.
Apparently Tapas is afraid that people below the 250 sub mark will abuse the system, at least that's what I gather from your post. However this so called abuse of the system, how it's done I don't know, can be done by anyone, regardless of the number of subs. As long as you've got tipping enabled, you can do whatever you want.
Then you have the issue that, if Tapas is so afraid of people abusing the system that they put this sub limit, why would they even bother to activate tipping for these series which are well below the 250 sub mark? Doesn't that kind of defeat the whole purpose?
Tipping, I thought was a way for reader to show their support. However a limit like this must mean Tapas is going to offering these readers some money right? You know, kind of like how Webtoons has their patreon pledge and if you hit a certain number of subs, 10,000 or so, LINE itself will (or is supposed to) show its support for fellow creators. A limit needs to be placed because LINE can't just start throwing money at every single series.
However, from what I see, Tapas itself is not forced to pay anything when these creators activate tipping. This is all up to the choice of the readers themselves.
Long story short, if there is such a fear of an abuse of system, then surely that rule must be properly enforced. Anyone with subs below 250 must have tipping taken off right? I mean we can't have these people risking abusing this system. And it's this point where it becomes obvious how, foolish this whole thing is.
Again, I don't blame you for that since I think you're probably just as uncertain of why this whole thing doing. However, I do expect some consistency from Tapas if its honestly going to throw these limits at people.
