When is a good time to start a kickstarter or print?

I have roughly 4.6k followers on webtoons and 2.2k followers on tapastic for my series Ark and I have a full chapter finished. So, I'm wondering...is this good enough to get the first chapter printed? Or would I be foolish to try?

And would it be better to run a kickstarter/indiegogo or print out of pocket?

Personally I would wait to finish the full book since I think people are more willing to kickstart a book that's completed rather than just one chapter of it...thats just how I feel though. Do you plan on doing that for each chapter? Because don't let me stop you I'm just more use to fully completed kickstarted books.

I think any time's a good time to at least try, cuz you don't know if it'll work if you don't! I'd personally go with crowdfunding, though. That'll give you a better idea on whether people will buy them and you won't be out however much it costs to get them printed only to have a couple people buy 'em.

I've also seen a lot of other folks kickstart with just a first chapter and succeed, so I think just a chapter is fine.
