This is a long story I´m singing and playing acoustic guitar & blues harp in 2 bands andI´m playing upright bass in one band right now. I can´t count in how many bands I played upright bass and electric bass in rockabilly, blues, doowop, punk and ska bands.I used to play 100 shows per year which was a crazy time and whenI wasn´t playing a show I either worked for other bands or went to a show as a guest
Cool!! I'd like to be a bassplayer myself. Only had one "gig" for now...
I would argue that the appropiate time would be the first weeks of december until christmas.
After that and before that is an excess.
It can be hard to find the right people for a band. I played horn in the church orchestra when I was 8 and then started to play in rock´n´rollbands around the age of 13. The first years were hard because the drummer couldn´tfind other band members and I was living in a small town. Then it was hard to findpeople who wanted to play shows, then people who take music seriously. But it´s the best thing in the world when it´s rolling and playing shows is addictive.I played a private living room concert yesterday, I love stuff like that. I prefer smallershows to big shows. Big shows can be cool too but a maximum of 300 people isthe best for me
