@globuline I was, in fact, thinking about Amilova, but I don't really like that system. It's a bit like Wikipedia, where 'anyone can edit' except with less supervision. I've tried to fix some Spanish translations a couple of times (mostly when there were blatant mistakes and/or the translation was just too regional) and they changed, then they changed back, then they got worse than before. Sometimes, the most local jokes and expressions weren't changed, leading to a "bad fansub" quality.
I prefer the idea of having just one translator who has enough knowledge about the original language (and maybe a bit of help or clarifying from the author) to be able to make a translation without missing much. And since most free comics won't ever be translated by professionals (so we aren't really stealing jobs from them) it would be cool if authors could do it.
