Eh from my own experience, it's full of art that IMO should have a mature content warning on it but doesn't, and at least as of 2019 when I left, had no way of filtering that type of art out. There's also a lot of stuff that gets submitted that isn't really art or transformative at all like straight up unedited screenshots from games.
I initially wanted to keep the site as an archive of my art but then i logged in and received a really creepy message that made me do a 180 and leave. like, my mental health was extremely frayed at the time, and I didn't need some rando asking me if i'm into literally every thing I don't want to see ever.
I was on the site for about 10 years and my art just went mostly ignored, no matter how hard I tried to submit it to groups and engage with other people.
If you want a site similar to DA but with no ads (yet?) and a more working UI (IMO) may I suggest Weasyl?
