Wouldn't you consider Goku to be a god when he was on planet Namek?

I'm like saying even before Goku achieved Super Saiyan God form he was basically already a god because on Namek when he became a Super Saiyan he was powerful enough to destroy an entire planet, so at that point wasn't he practiaclly a god already even before Super Saiyan Blue came into the picture? (I hope you get what I'm saying?)

So it takes capability to destroy a planet to be the benchmark for "god" tier power level?

I thought its as long as you power level mog the rest of the cast relative to everyone else's power level? (I.e... everyone is just capable of martial arts while you shoot kiai blasts that can punch a basketball sized hole in a concrete wall)
