When you find out the name you researched for your character and think is pretty unique is shared by a character from another series.
(I am not afraid to reuse this gif)
This! I've already spotted two of the names i've researched in other works, a hit and miss.
I think this is an issue if the other work is well known on a global scale. If not, then go for it. It's only when it's like a household name that I'd be weary of it.
@joannekwan Names are name :s I've read some books where they've reused the same names for several characters. Not at all confusing! Either way, I'd say forget the other stories! A character's name is their identity! It's impossible to change.
Become one of us. :>
Hey, does the name Ryu and Yudai work well?
D: I shall do no such thing!
Yeah I'd say they do.
Thank you! One of the hardest parts is finding the right names to fit the character's personality. I have been looking forever to find some good ones and those two popped up!
Ah they never really need to fit their personality, I think. I mean realistically, parents would sometimes give their kids some weird ass names X'D. Imagine an intergalactic warlord named Bobby.
Kill your darlings and stuff
Yeah I guess so
Oh my god. Passive Adjectives death roll Don't you just love it when you're passive accidentally during a serious or action-packed scene and its like jumps off a cliff
Back pain. Freaking chronic back pain. So much damn back pain. Wait did I talk about the back pain? Just to be safe - THE DAMN BACK PAIN.
Now I am thinking about the movie Kill Your Darlings. Ah Beat Generation.
I always encounter the problem of falling behind on a writing project then promptly adding four more to the mix. And I have the need to complete them all so I never end up dropping any of them.
On that note, finger pain xD
Don't forget dead leg, standing up and almost falling over is no joke.
This is the life we chose.
Another pet peeve is someone is like "How hard van it be to write a novel?"
Hey that's pretty Humorous! Ha get it.
