I'm going to advance a radical view which people might not agree with. There is no such thing as writer's/artist's block. It's a myth.
If you can't advance your story it means you haven't put sufficient thought into the earliest foundational stages of it. You haven't paid enough attention to such things as themes, characters, their motivations, wants, needs, fears etc.
In 'On Writing' Steven King says he never plans out his stories. He lets them grow organically out of his characters and themes, which he pays very close attention to. He then goes on to say that he once had to scrap 40,000 words because the manuscript was going nowhere. And then he admits that, yeah, from time to time he does plan things out.
As the great Billy Wilder said (I may be paraphrasing here) - 'if you have a problem with the climax, you really have a problem with the first act.' Or words to that effect.
But that's merely my opinion. We all find our own way. Best of luck in all your creative endeavours.
