One of the things that help keep me going, even when I’m laging a bit is to listen to other people who are also passionate about the subject, talk about it.
Because hearing them talk about something, they love with such excitement and joy and all the little things about it that they care about having them passionately talk about other artist they respect, things like watching a documentary on Frank quietly or Frazetta helps remind me about aspects of the art that I love and it also helped me, kind of, feed off of their energy.
And theirs also that little part of me that’s a bit competitive that wants to get as good as if not possibly - although I don’t think that’ll ever happen Quietly and & Frazetta Are beyond amazing - but I want to get up to the level so badly that it pushes me to pick up the pen again with enjoyment.
But also other times you just need a break so when i’m getting a bit tired i give myself permission to take a break without guilt. Go for a walk, the theatre, just get out of the 4 walls, even if tis just sitting on a park bench with my dog reading a comic.
And as for views, ‘it takes 10 years of work to become an overnight success.’ The people who suddenly shoot to the top like a viral video. usually are just right time right place with insane luck.
