Hey there
Writer's Block is damn intimidating and difficult to overcome, it took me several months to get my motivation and inspiration back, but it's natural to have these moments. This is also part of being a writer. It can be exhausting, very demotivating and more often than not causes my own anxiety to go up the hill, but it's kinda beautiful how we refuse to give up and eventually - even if it takes months or even years - go back to writing as we simply can't let go of this passion.
Comments light up may day and is a huge source of my motivation - I have recently been pleased with lots of new, lovely readers and it just makes me feel damn awesome. That and the fact that I love the chapters I am currently writing keep me going.
What inspired you?
It's kinda funny, but the idea of the novel I am currently publishing here is the product of a random writing exercise I did when I was was dealing with the most dreading Writer's Block. It is inspired by the book I was writing back then (this was like four years ago) and I kinda liked it, so I kept changing and making notes for this. However, I didn't really have the motivation or what it took to actually concentrate on that idea, so I kind of lost my way and worked on other smaller projects. However, a year and a half ago I was looking through my old notebooks, just reading and making fun of my old notes until I stumbled upon that idea once again and hell - my fingers were thrilled to work on this project. And that's how I ended up writing half of the book in two months or so which normally does not happen to me.
Who's your favourite character to write?
I enjoy writing the antagonists and characters that aren't as good as they seem and have some underlying very questioning intentions up their sleeve. There is this one character in specific who was originally planned to play a minor role in the earliest versions but I found potential in him for something bigger. The chapters in which we get to see the real side of him have not been updated yet but it won't be long and I am absolutely looking forward to the readers' reactions. Another character I love to write is Lucian - again, we haven't gotten to the more interesting characters showcasing him yet.
I really hope you'll get over your Writer's Block soon Something that personally works for me is setting deadlines and whenever I can't keep those I have to undergo some type of punishment like "Write at least for one hour each day from now on or you are not allowed to buy any new books this month".
