Uh.. I feel like someone else more qualified and tact should be making this but whatever, let's go lol
So, I know there's plenty of us that wanna go and make our stories animated whether they're done as a cartoon or anime or somewhere in between, maybe even outside of these mainstream categories. Regardless of what we wanna make and how we plan to get there, I'm curious to see how far our differences may go in approaching this? Maybe it'll even paint a bigger picture than we realize about.. something lol
I'm gonna set up a series of polls as this goes on, and we'll see how the answers go. Maybe we'll find some trends amongst ourselves. All the questions and poll choices will be in reference to a single story becoming an animation of some sort
Did you write your story with animation in mind for the future?
- No, the desire to see it animated came after writing
- No, but having ANY of my stories animated sounds cool
- Yes, I wrote it with the intent of animating it later
- Other, feel free to clarify
Do you have any experience in animation?
- No, none whatsoever
- No, but I plan to study it in the future
- Yes, but I gave up on it
- Yes, and I'm still practicing and learning
- Other, feel free to clarify
If you have experience in animating, would you be a direct part of the animation process?
- No, animating is not for me anymore
- No, I'd be of better use elsewhere in the production of it
- Yes, but only specific parts (characters, background, vfx, coloring, etc..)
- Yes, I'd animate as much as I can
- Other, feel free to clarify
If you have no experience animating or would rather be involved in some other way, what role would you take to be a part of it?
- Producer
- Script Writer
- Storyboard Artist
- Concept Artist
- Character Designer
- Animation Director
- Music/Score Composer
- Sound Designer
- Voice Actor
- Other, feel free to clarify

If you had the funds to animate your story, how long would you prefer the overall project be if you were a part of the process?
- Short film (less than 40 min. runtime)
- Pilot episode (less than 30 min. runtime)
- Feature-length film (80 min. or more of runtime)
- Limited series (let's say around 6-12 episodes, each one no longer than 30 minutes, AND no season 2 afterwards)
- Regular series (multiple seasons, as many episodes as you want)
- Other, feel free to clarify
Lastly, let's reflect on our answers and forget about the potential demopraphics, marketing, and profits here. Do you see making an animation out of your own story as an achievable goal at this point in time?
- No, not at all, but it'd be a nice idea
- Not currently. I still need the plan and/or the resources
- Yes, but I might have to cut back on the scope
- Yes, I can say I'll be able to reach my goal
- It depends (Feel free to clarify)
I think that's where my own questions would end, but I'd be curious to see where this goes!
