I started with a Blue circle... to see where it will go.
I just wanted to create something that people would like.

Here is my very first episode

'I'm going to build a world...'.
I'd say the main reason I started posting my comic was that I felt I would work on it more regularily if I had scheduled updates.
Second reason was the need for feedback to improve.

I'm gonna be honest with you, I knew about the whole BL and Romance bias from the beginning, I wasn't expecting much, and honestly no one should be expecting much from me.

I've been planning this story since forever so I was as excited as a child in a candystore x'D it was a very cool experience, even if it was kinda sad to get no views almost at all at the begining, I knew that was coming and my friends were the most supportive people on the world so I just kept going <3

I'm half kidding with my choice. I knew full well my comic wasn't going to be an overnight success, but Hey. I can dream if I want. It's been almost 5 years since I came up with the comic that would eventually be The Black Belt Society, and as much as I like everything about it, I completely recognize that much more needs to be put into a project to expect the results that you might want.

When I first uploaded here my comic was already up and running on webtoons for some time. I heard of Tapas because of a comic I'm subscribed to and decided to check it out!

I thought: "why not?" and decided to post my content here as well. I'm glad I did though. I genuinely enjoy Tapas, more than Webtoons actually. I even recommended it to a friend of mine!

The first episode is gone because it was a teaser, but basically "It's okay if I can't finish this, but I started it, that's what matters". With a tinge of supressed pain that it's going to be a long long LONG time until I post the final episode, if I finish it that is. But again, that's okay - this is work and practice, I'm working and practicing every page I finish, not with just the whole thing.

Once I'd mentally faced all three possibilities, I hit "Publish." Acknowledging that shouting into the void is by far the most likely, of course... Virginia Woolfe was right about "the world's notorious indifference" with regard to writing.

'Oh boy I'm making a webcomic! Where else do people who make webcomics post? I want to do the same stuff they did! Let's see -- Webtoon done, Tapas done, ohh people make Insta and Twitter accounts too? I want to do that too!'

Truthfully I don't mind whatever reception I get from my webcomic, but I just want to enjoy the ride. So far, it's been fun.

I think something along the lines of "I don't know what I'm doing but I think it'll be fun". I had zero goals or plans in mind when I started versus other folks I've seen (especially now for some reason) who seem to have a much more concrete idea of their stories and goals and other things.

When I first came to Tapas back when it was Tapastic and slice of life had the lay of the land my thoughts were literally just "that looks cool [and fun] I wanna do that too" like this:

I still feel like that now with art and comics and a lot of things because there's just a lot of cool folks making stuff. I definitely have a stronger sense of what I want to do myself now (in terms of stories and I guess success too) but I still have that same excitable attitude when I find something interesting

My thoughts were something like: "this will make it easier for my friends to see the comic, and the shame that comes from uploading things on a public website will motivate/force me to draw better. Maybe, people I don't know will even like this".

At first I didn't expect a lot of readers apart from my friends and a few followers I already had... I just wanted to get more experience, learn the "rhythm" of publishing webcomics and become better at making them!

lol I picked "Tomorrow I'm Superstar", not because I ever expect my comic to be famous in any way, but because I stumbled upon Tapas quite on accident and wanted another platform to put my comic on, in hopes of having more people read it. And as an added bonus, I knew I'd be able to have more interactions with my readers on here!

I'm a site jumper, big on stats and the like so I was comparing stats that'd be earned here to Ao3 and Booksie, both have dropped in terms of "goodness" with knowing if someone's even reading or not. Overall I thought "meh this won't work, ooh a schedule feature" and uploaded chapter 1-3 on scheduled and just figured it wouldn't work out.

I did mine on Facebook and Instagram first, I decided on Tapas' for three reasons:

Needed a specific comic platform to post for better reach.

The pixel width.

Finally the creator dashboard.

Initial thoughts? So...superstar...? I'd say now though it's more of a place to put my things xD
