My ambw romance novel's FL Essence Walker is 5'10. She's 5 inches taller than the male lead, and also just the tallest relevant character in the story. She be slaying tho.

My POC romance novel's FL Alicia Palmero is 4'9, making her a full foot shorter than the ML, though he is usually in his wheelchair, so their height balances out a bit more.

being tall is the beauty standard for guys, so it's already celebrated everywhere. this thread is for celebrating characters that fall into categories that are often ignored, type-casted, token etc.

Anything below 5'7" (1,70m) I would consider small. But then again, at 6'2"(1,87m) I'm well within the average where I'm from haha.

Not if they're way above average. Being "too tall" is still a thing for guys--and I mean far above their average of 5'9". Being something like over 6'5" isn't sought after or seen as a boon. (Especially since most clothing brands aren't made for people that tall for any gender.)

Well, over 6'5 might be. And yeah clothing brands aren't accommodating for any height over 6'5, I agree. But that's really specific, just being tall in general is still considered a boon. It's something like being thin for girls. Being "too thin" some people might still consider unattractive, but being thin in general is still considered the beauty ideal. I just worry that if tall kings are added to this thread's concept it would lose part of the point of celebrating people who fall outside the typical standard, even though yeah, there are exceptions to every standard, and every body type should get it's time to shine and be appreciated

But that's what I'm asking about. The specifics here in this topic are people outside the standard (except for extra tall men.) So my question to add a 6'5"+ character who is male, isn't really specific. It is a question of why this atypical category was excluded from the other atypical categories in the topic.

(I see you keep editing your response, so wasn't sure if I should wait a few extra minutes to post this. lol But I'll just post it now.)

I totally forgot Jinho here. (though he'd kill me for adding him to the list.)

He says he's 5'6, he's 5'6 in shoes, but irl, he's 5'4, 4 inches shorter than his bestie, Andrew:

“If the words out of any mouth could kill a plant, it’s yours,” Andrew quips, startling Jinho with a smack on the back that nearly knocks off his glasses.

“Diablo! - Sh-” Jinho half growls, readjusting his specs. “Watch your strength before you break my back.”

Kattar winces.

“Ah, sorry, sorry,” Andrew apologizes quickly, “I always forget I can have a bit of a heavy hand. You never feel strong when you’re moving lumber all the time, so it’s difficult to judge.”

Then again I’m 5’5 so I look down on 5’4 and 5’3 (pun intended)
