I come from animation high school, but today I mostly work in the comic and illustration field. I kind of miss animating, so I'm planning a short animated trailer for my comic series Niki Batsprite
For traditional, I prefer colored pencils or Copic markers. For digital, Photoshop. I would gladly master other softwares such as Paint, must find some time for that. 
I use to work on different projects at the same time, with different styles and needs. Indeed, switching styles is hard work but also a great practice about staying fresh and learn to jump on any theme "in the blink of an eye". On writing, I usually start from past notes and ideas. Once I've written a "skeleton" of the story, I check its flowing, adjust dialogues and put the right pace in each scene. Next step is to split the story into pages and panels to fit the book space.
