Wow, I found some nice new reads in this thread! :innocent: I'd love some more readers for my series aswell :sunglasses:

Thank you so much for your input, everyone!

I have a surface pro 4, which is quite underpowered and starts lagging when files get too big. It also suffers from screen flicker. So I'm thinking of buying a new laptop for making comics. Any suggestions for what is good? I use a wacom tablet without a screen to draw, so I don't need or want a …

Your approach will depend on what program you use. Maybe you could write the text, select parts of it with the square selection tool and move it around, breaking it up and making it glitchy?

Made this in Krita and Flash [image]

Reminds me of Animal Crossing!

My magical eskimo folktale :sparkles:

And you aswell! Thank you for the help and compliments   I appreciate that!

Oh, sorry for the late reply! Thank you for the nice comment!

thanks! yeah, it's quite a drop :frowning: will rate yours too

My score just dropped from 9.8 something to 6.46  Sad..

It’s a great idea. It can look really really stylish and cool. Check out the colour use in for instance the Sin City comics. In fact my next comic will be black and white, with some details coloured in, like a flower or an animal. You can use this to direct the reader’s focus on what is important…

This is mine! I post artwork, sketches and stuff relating to my webcomic several times a week!

Oh, never thought about that, but now that you said it - there are many similarities! thanks anyways

I love the depth effect you achieved with that squid painting, it's definitely a good choice to put on your front page on your website.

I just launched my new website a couple of weeks ago. For the moment I plan on just using it for the webcomic, since I use Instagram and Tumblr for art pieces and stuff like that. http://folkcomics.com/

Thank you for collecting all this useful information in one spot!

Page 3 from The One That Got Away is up! [image]

What country are you from Clauxx? Edit: oh, I saw this was answered later in the thread

Thank you Jarzebiny! I'm actually pretty bad with colour theory, so I usually use a website called https://coolors.co/ to decide on a palette. PS I'm heading over to webtoons to read yours, too now!

I agree with a lot of what's been written in this thread. In his book On Writing, which I can really recommend, Steven King argues that you should pretty much only use "he/she said". "You probably have told your story well enough to believe that when you use he said, the reader will know how he s…

I went with this one instead: [image]

I like the red-blue 3D effect!
