Hello. I have one comic currently updating, if anyone was interested: https://tapas.io/episode/2318878 . Thank you. : 3
In case of pictures, I always use this as a rule: - If you can find three different pictures showing the same thing on Google (same perspective, etc), then it's alright to use this as a reference. (For example a person standing still for a character reference sheet - it can be found anywhere, so if…
Hello. I also didn't win anything. It's a cool idea for everyone to share their story, since it was really hard to find a good one among all the entries - with how the search function worked. ;;; Thanks!
Ohh, such a cool idea for a thread. : D Thank you! [image] This must be my fav moment, because I always open on those pages when I want to advertise my comic https://tapas.io/series/Lazy-Snow-Leopard . xD
This looks neat? At first I was surprised to see the navigation on the right, but putting the comments also in there makes sense. I think I will get used to this fast. Thank you so much for your hard work! (I'm reading from my PC.)
(The old design was probably fine for the App version(?) - althou…
This is a very interesting topic. It made me realise that most of my favourite series have a very weak opening. And that if I didn't like the art style or didn't watch it as anime first (which made me start with at least one full episode before giving up), I might have never gotten hooked up. For e…
Ohh, a cool idea, I will have to check this whole thread, since there seem to be some real gems in here. Thank you for starting it.
I'm almost 32. And I feel like I've already promoted my main series everywhere, so let me share another one here instead.
Thank you for the recommendations! They are all great so far.
Aww, thanks. But sorry, I've already started on a really simple idea for the contest, since there isn't enough time anymore. Sorry for writing to you this late. But if you want to still do a short after the contest, I will tell you what I think when you're done writing. If it's good, I will gladly …
From what I saw, it's a really short comic so far, so it won't be hard for people to re-read everything. Just keep going. o/ No need to feel pressured or follow any schedules either. Just post when you have time to make it. And rest when you need to rest. Doing one up-date per month is completely fi…
Yes, but I would need to see the story fully written first, to decide. I'm actually currently looking for a story to illustrate for the Webtoon contest. My usual writer came short this time - we couldn't come up with a decent idea. But I still wanted to try doing it afterall. Although only if the st…
I did my campaign with IndieGoGo, because Kickstarter wasn't available in my country at the time. Also, I think IndieGoGo allows PayPal instead of credit cards? That being said, if Kickstarter was available then, I would have most likely chosen it.
If you don't have any experience yet, it would be a great idea to publish a short story as a novel first. Then look for someone to collaborate on making it into a short comic (one shot). And then, having that as an example of your work, ask if someone would like to collaborate on a longer series. Pe…
I heard the pandemic will take a break during the summer and come back in September, for Europe. The vaccine should take about a year to be completed. So about 1-2 years altogether?
Hi~! I did a lot of research on scanners when my scanner almost died (it got a new life thanks to a new power cable though), so I think I can do a recommendation. If you want to scan in colour and get a good quality, be able to get 3-dimentional stuff captured (like framed pictured, bigger canvase…
I think they don't want to make categories that will have too few comics in them. So for an Adventure comic, if it was a calmer one, I would go with either "Slice of life", "Drama" or "Comedy", even if it's not too accurate - and if it was more dynamic, I would choose "Action". BTW, "Ranma 1/2" is m…
I thought: "Under prism" - and it was actually just that!! Provided that the first word was already given, this is the first one I've guessed 100%. : DDD Yay!
ER + Rant! So smart, nice. : D I was thinking of "Team of doctors" + "screaming", but it turned out to be so clever.
Ohh, thank you so much, this is super useful! I've already found something I might want to read in there! Thank you for sharing this.

Write down every idea in detail.
Can we have horizontal comic format, please? Like here: http://smacmag.net/v/sma12/never-late-by-lucas-marques-and-priscilla-miranda/?lang=en#0 or here: https://comic.pixiv.net/viewer/stories/18286 . Pretty please.
I've watched "Over the Garden Wall" twice. The second time someone said that each episode is about one of the Dante's hell circles - and I've liked it even more since then. I know my friends watch it every year for Halloween. On the other hand - I've only ever watched one episode of "Gravity Falls"…
Whenever I can, I go for traditional, because my eyes get tired easily in front of a monitor. Digital gives more precision and is better suited for print though. I often mix both media.
Actually, it's a different comic and I just chose two pages that had the word "KA-BOOM" on them.
GL, fantasy, half colour: Fantasy, black and white:
Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) Takeshi Obata (Bakuman) Shillin (Calciphona) uru-chan (UnOrdinary) Mitsuru Adachi (MIX) Marvin (Humor me)
It depends on which country you're in, but generally such things are considered illegal. It sometimes goes unpunished if the company that owns the content doesn't notice (because your comics is small and has a tiny fanbase) or if the copyrighted content isn't obvious. Also, some creators allow for t…
