I don't mind either way as long as the story/art catches my attention, but I do have a slight preference towards long form unless it's ridiculously long then I'll probably nope out from scrolling for miles.
I usually just skim through a baby name site/name gen until I find something that clicks, then I build my characters around that.
I love writing extremely fluffy scenes where two characters are acting ridiculously cute together, like on a date or just watching a movie together. On the other side of the spectrum, I'm a sucker for writing those emotional breakdowns, especially the lead up to them and then the entire scene of …
I view a lot of my characters as my children... but there are a few I made for straight up self-indulgence so yeah probably.
Characters is a big one. In fact I've gone back to a few series I've dropped after months/years just to see what development the characters have went through even if the plot bored/frustrated me at the time.
I don't think it's a bad thing, but I do get a little worried if the author ends up overworking themselves from putting out pages for a ton of different active comics. Aside from that, I think it's a really good thing. I love reading multiple comics from the same author because I know what kind of …
Same reason why I don't really read 4 komas, same jokes told over and over but in slightly different situations. Most gag comics I see these days are the same, 'oh no I'm socially anxious fuck my life' variety and it's been done to death thanks to the internet. 99% of the time I just skip over gag …
When I was re-reading Haikyuu, I wound up bawling after a certain loss because the team took it so hard and I learned beforehand the manga's ranking dropped pretty low because of it. The only webcomic to evoke a strong, sad emotion in me was one I found recently on tapas named Glacias. I was not …
A few authors I follow crossposted from Smackjeeves and I sort of just... stayed here. I guess I also found a load of comics here and find it easier to navigate than webtoons discover section.
I've given up on the Game of Thrones books ever being finished tbqh. I love everything about the series itself and the television show is... questionable at times (especially after they ran out of book material), but I'll take whatever it throws at me over waiting forever for books that may or may n…
Akuma no Riddle, Battery, and Junjou Romantica. I have no idea why I bothered finishing these. Battery was probably the worst because the last episode was fucking awful with intolerable characters throughout the entire series and it gives you the slightest hope that it gets better. nah.
Reverse harems, give me a trashy, awful reverse harem and I'll probably finish it while complaining the entire way. I love this shit though because it's beyond predictable with tons of cute boys.
Depends really, but I'm way more likely to stick with a story that has tone changes overtime rather than straight up fluff/light episodes all the time. In general it's why I don't read any gag manga/webcomics, light stuff gets boring very quickly to me.
Art is 60% of the reason I'll read a webcomic. It can have an amazing story, but bad art or questionable stylistic choices can be a huge turn off. I'm willing to let it go if the art improves over time (I tend to judge on the latest page released), but if it's terrible through and through, I won't b…
There needs to be better organization in the novels, imo. I've dug through a good number and there are so many mediocre paid ones it's just turned me off to the category in general. I'm basically better off going to ao3 because I ain't paying for some low key kpop fan fiction. That said, I hope i…
It depends on how invested in the characters/story I am, plus the overall quality of said uncensored bits. I'm subbed to a few people on Patreon (mostly for previews/to be a couple pages ahead) and porn alone generally won't make me pay.
I tend to leave one liners or maybe some short speculation, but a majority of the time I don't comment simply because I have nothing to say or there's 500 comments already. I do like commenting on smaller comics more often, but even then... I don't like leaving the typical, 'wow so good.' on every …
From a reader perspective, the fastest way to lose me is to pretty much never update and when you do update, it's either A. tipping or B. filler content (I've seen so many Q/A's that I automatically skip them these days). I usually unsub when I get bored with a terribly slow moving story. You can…
When it comes to romance, I'm very lax towards tropes since there are only so many ways two people can fall in love in fiction and still have the story remain interesting. However I do pretty much hate the, 'Girl is totally uninterested and hates Guy for no reason, but Guy just keeps trying until X…
I find myself drawn to cocky/arrogant/overly confident characters like Oikawa , Aomine, or Izaya. I'm pretty much the complete opposite of them, but it's very nice to see someone who is so confident in their abilities and can back it up with skill. If the author can make them likable without totall…
I like them, but don't really think much of them beyond the initial five seconds of noticing it. I think I actually prefer the, 'Thanks for 1k subs!' posts because then we get to see a cute doodle from the artist instead of something copy and pasted dozens of times.
