Oh, I see. Thanks for answering. The situation is a real bummer. I got excited thinking i got a new like or sub and then it turns out to be ads... :frowning:

I'm really not interested in the site-wide promotions, and would prefer to just keep my notifications for things that directly relate to my writing. Is there any way to do that?

Trying to showcase my writing skills with a serious fanfiction. https://tapas.io/series/The-Golden-Quiche

I just updated Chapter 194 yesterday. For Undertale fans.

[image] Grillby as Soul of Cinder. I now have the plin plin plong lietmotif of Dark Souls stuck in my ears.

I'm currently playing Epic 7 and My Time in Portia

Thanks a lot for the reply! If that's the case, maybe I'll do that for my next original serial instead...

I follow whoever i want to follow. The pros i follow either Japanese (I can't read anything they say lawl), fellow net friends, fandom group, or anyone whose art impresses me.

Or that's a sticky legal endeavor better left untouched? I published a novel about year 2016 but it's very lacking in promotion. Just wondering if it's possible to make a teaser for the main book or something? It's published on Amazon and Smashwords

Well... When i last mailed the website about this in 2016 or 2017 they said original works are not encouraged. I can only shrug at this point.

For your question, you might want to read this post

Same actually haha. In the end, I deleted it and kept to fanworks. One day, I would upload a new original work on Tapas. It's just not today.

If you're trying to post originals on AO3, you're posting on the wrong site anyway. It's actively discouraged due to legality issues.

Ao3 will always be a better place for Fanfiction, so the majority will still post there. I wanted to say that some of history's most famous literature are ascended fanfiction... but judging from the tone of your post you don't seem to be open to discussions of those nature anyway. Before anyone …

or if you want my art

IMO, whoever wrote that 6 tropes is being more insulting to rape victims than the tropes themselves. Treating them like an unmentionable forbidden taboo will just teach real victims that the only answer is to sweep their baggage under a rug and forget about it. There are better ways to deal with t…

I mainly post on Tumblr, Deviantart, and Twitter. I have a Pixiv account but it's quite neglected.

This is gonna be a long shot, since this is longform writing. But I have something cheeky to share: “Hot damn, I’m glad Lucy ain’t doing the dialing. She would have dropped a tree on ya or something.”

I'm just reuploading my fic from Ao3, and how coincidental it was to have a chapter named 'Vampire's Court' as my latest post

A professional is nobody without readers. I'm done with the solitude I had for 5 years.

I still need to clear Tapas' tutorial 25 subs lol

Still uploading my main story here bit by bit

I was annoyed by the amount of real world politics with real world country names inserted into a fantasy setting....

Interestingly, a botched game franchise and the coincidence that i made friends with another writer. Always been drawing fancontent and one panel comics before that incident though.

Gah, reading this topic makes me feel guilty. I'm such a dead subber.

I heard about dead subs. How do they calculate it, and does it affect services that require minimum number of subscriptors? I want to support other people, but at the same time I have very limited time. Most of it goes into the creation process. There is only one or two series that I keep up to da…

I have a Wattpad. My main account is AO3 though, so Wattpad is nothing more than a mirror. I thought of turning it into something else before buuuuuuut I don't write the stuff that site promotes. Not 50 shades or harry potter. So, I had long given up hopes that it would become anything substantial…

I thought so too, then I saw some fellows from my fandom having ads. When I asked them, they said that the earnings from the ads are small enough to be considered a 'doujin' (fanwork) material. The original IP owner allows people to earn from small-scale doujin stuff. I just can't charge premium for…

I prefer to have at least one person in the story to mention the name as the first formal introduction. The narration will not use the name until it's officially spoken.

Oh my! I think I know some history buffs who might find your comic interesting. I'm gonna forward these to them and see if they're interested in reading it.
