Big thanks! Feels so young now
Same here, but my original pages were A4 format, and reading it on mobile is very uncomfortable. It's fine to scroll down full pages on desktop or larger tablets, but with smaller screens dialouges are getting too small. For each scene I have to reformat them to vertical scroll - it reads nice, but …
Movie (animation) I was working on for almost 2 years has its premiere today in cinemas!
30 here, working in animation studio + little child. I created first chapter in my spare time and it took over 1 year. About half of chapter is already posted here:
Here is my series. First episode is cover + 3 pages from book version and second is 4 pages.
@BlackRose108 is right about it. Many webcomics are lacking episode format. You may divide your readers into two categories - subscribers and new readers. First group is, as we assume, waiting constantly for new episodes and they read it by little chunks with each update. New readers are starting f…
@chickknightgreenleaf, @TAMAnnoying - Thanks for your links!
Anymore series about the most cliche party ever - warrior, thief mage and healer meeting themselves at the inn just to get their quest to kill dragon and obtain his treasures?
Interesting. I'm uploading episodes( and by episodes I mean scenes). And every time its a different amount of pages. I feel like sharing each page one by one will impact narration in a big negative way (and I see that a lot in many webcomics here). Episodes format is just too good to pass. But for g…
Hey thanks for another one that is not exactly a fairytale
Both are quite interesting, thanks!
anymore?
Hello, i'm creating this thread because I'm looking for more classic vibed fantasy comics (Fafhrd & Greymouser, LotR, Earthsea, Narnia, D&D) on tapas or webtoons. Here, fantasy genre is very wide and diverse and finding your favourite fantasy subgenre is more than troublesome. If you know any good…
One point - in the end drawing anatomy is a different thing than drawing people. Find that point when your proportions and structure is fine. Don't be afraid to simplify things. Comics are not about drawing things but communicating things. My series: https://tapas.io/series/Circles-of-Magic
Indeed a better way to write this kind od content is putting it at the end of episode. I do this without any additional drawing, just few lines of text. Into creators notes I drop something like 'thanks for reading/coming back. See you soon.'
Nice thread, I was thinking about asking the same. I'm looking for more classic fantasy stories (swords, magic, dragons you know) and fantasy genre is pretty much a different thing, so searching form them is a little bit of struggle. Anyway. Here is my series: https://tapas.io/series/Circles-of-…
Always nice to introduce yourself a little. Especially if you have more stuff to show besides this particular webcomic. I usually like to read few words from backstage. It also give reader more ways to engage with author in comments.
[image] After few attempts I eneded up with this as a cover for my series. You're right, cover and promo arts are especially fun to do. I oftern try many styles or more graphical/symbolic approach and love to play with compositions.
You also just can't compare every comic. There is a specific taste of community here as well as webtoons and some titles are just more suited for big audiences. I thought my series had a good start but I read couple more debuting comics here and realized it was small numbers compared to some titles…
Four little thieves unexpectedly get themselves drawn into adventure that will lead them further than they could ever have imagined (and back).
Yes, bringing traffic from social media, without turning people into new tapas users doesn't make into actual value and doesnt help you keep tempo with your series.
Hello there! My name is Kamil, and I'm creating Circles of Magic comic. I wanted to introduce myself as well as my project. I'm a hobby/aspiring author and cartoonist and for last year, during free time I was writing and drawing first chapter for my story. I did this for few reasons - I want to join…
