Aloof Floof

I'm a fresh-faced veterinary student with too many hobbies on the side to keep track of. Between classes, studying, exams, and working with animals, I try to pump out a share of creativity here and there by writing and drawing the stories in my head.

Last night I drew my arrogant self-obsessed pirate captain :tada: [image] Some older pics of He [image] [image]

I love the setting!!

(Tobias is a superhero with future-sight) Tobias MacClain lay there, with two legs, in silence, and minded that his breathing remain steady. Even as magma sloshed from beneath him and slipped underneath his blankets. Even as the blanket became too hot to hold, but too dangerous to release. Even af…

An unconventional superhero/antihero novel! Dark action/comedy [image]

[image] My art workspace being my flat bedroom (which, granted, looks like a child's room, but I never grew up and will be single forever). I painted the walls and themed the whole place to dinosaurs. Still working on it, though! It's my gradual inspiration project. The next thing I'll be adding i…

[image] drew this for a uni poster assignment...which was a surprise to me because I'm studying on the opposite spectrum to art sujbects

Thank you so much for checking out Doctored Chance! I know the full title can be unwieldy, but I haven't the heart to change it because it flows the way I (very personally) like. (sort of like "The Hundred Year Old Man Who Jumped Out a Window and Disappeared", where it gives away the premise of the …

Dr Suess quotes always make me smile! You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. You're off to Great Places! Today is your…

I have a dark comedy/action, (80,000?words) told in a witty narrative style inspired by Lemony Snicket and revolving around themes of hero-turns-villain and questioning the fine line between good and evil. It's fast-paced, descriptive, and in my opinion, gripping. But it will also make you smile. …

I've just finished uploading all of the chapters to Tapas, scheduled through to the end of February and the end of the story. One day, Tobias swore to himself. “I’ll show them exactly how it feels to be powerless.”

Here's a snippet of conversation from a chapter coming tomorrow :eyes: Tobias moaned and sunk in his chair, pushing his fingers into his hair and grabbing a clump of locks. It hadn’t fully hit him how much he was giving up on his—arguably destructive—new path. “I was so close to having my Ph.D. One mor…

The tips already mentioned are really good. I've been stuck in writer's block for so long and I keep starting and stopping because I write myself into corners. To get around it and give myself some time to think about the problems, sometimes I write a scene from a later spot in the story that I'm mo…

(Tobias has Future Sight powers) Only once Tobias was alone—thirty seconds passed—and the deafening whistle of the approaching nuke muted the car alarms and distant screams and sirens, he slid down from the abandoned car and started to hobble away from the square, too. As fast as his crutch could …

“Wait a minute, Doc. Doc! You can’t just have a nap. Are you out of your mind?” Tobias buried his face in his arms. “Twenty minutes. Then I will edit my remaining virus with a failsafe primer, freeze it with liquid nitrogen, and you may direct me out. It won’t take too long. I prepared the primers…

If you're up for it, I'll put my dark action/comedy on the table. :eyes: I'm definitely interested in a +react for this novel because it's different to what/how I usually write and I'm curious how it plays to other readers. I wouldn't call it NSFW, but if you are uncomfortable with descriptions of wounds…

[image][image] I use a different cover here on Tapas than I use on Wattpad. It seemed like all the stories had characters on the front when I moved here, so I spent the time to make something along that theme. I'm not too happy with the title in it (the first image), but it works well for the thum…

I'm not too active on Twitter, mainly on Instagram ^^ https://www.instagram.com/aloofs_travelingcircus/ https://twitter.com/KKortegast I've just scheduled my entire novel for upload: [image]

[image] It's all written, but I've only just started to upload it to Tapas as I edit.

Yeah, I agree. I'm one of those people who avoids the mature section myself because I'm not a fan of erotica kind fo stuff, but graphic violence/gore/dark themes is totally fine to me. If there were descriptions it would help

Dizzy grabbed her soda off the table and paced to one wall, where a panel had been stripped to expose patched wiring. She touched the bundles of electrical tape that held the mess of things together. “To think, just yesterday you were having a meltdown about breaking into your university. Now, cool …

The twisting path of a superhero-turned-villain and how he spiraled from saving the world to being locked away.

Here's mine! It is a novel (not a comic) recounting the twisting path of a superhero-turned-villain and how he went from saving the world to finding himself in prison--it's in the title. Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder Told in a Lemony Snicket …

Drew a new book cover [image]

I know it must be done and is very necessary, but I worry that putting a mature filter on deters readers. :c My story has nothing sexual in it, but it does have some graphic descriptions of injuries and dark, deteriorating headspaces (the story focuses on the hero as he turns towards villainy). I'm…

Probably one of my best/favorite drawings. It's an illustration for my WIP, Riven Isles. I'm currently trying to rewrite the second draft to upload to Tapas, but still have a long ways to go before it's ready. :") [image] But also this, from the same story
