1 Fashion Statement A Day: Who is your: Cottagecore character?

Believe it or not, though Alicia rarely puts in the effort to look cute, when she does, her style is very coquette. Lace, ribbons, light colors, but with a flirty edge.

This is a very old drawing I made sometime mid last year of a canon coquette outfit of Alicia's:

as for clothe's she would wear:

honestly anyone who's read the book can probably believe this easily. when Alicia isn't as depressed (and hence puts in effort) she is a big flirt.

Those two wear the closest thing to coquette outfit I have(I think), but also because I can’t escape the french meaning of coquette, and it matches the characters’ motivations in the panel, which is to please others often through their clothing. Although by the time of the actual story, these two stopped dressing like that.

I did also do a quick sketch of Corrine dressed in the simplest coquette outfit I could find on google just to actually answer the question.

Isn't coquette a flirt? I don't speak French, but that's what I've always heard it used to mean. Is that a mistranslation?

Sort of, it can mean that in a certain context, but it can also mean something closer to flirting through one appearance but with connotations of class/ beauty/cuteness, or used as an adjective for elegance, pleasing, pretty, or cute.

I’m not sure if she really counts as coquette, but she’s probably the closest I’ve got even so. She could at least be considered coquette adjacent.

She supposed to debut in Season 2 and appear to Owen whenever he falls asleep as a guide. She always appears as if on a music video set/ movie set. Surreal dream-like scenery with whites and light pinks, set workers and dancers always around although little Owen never gets a glimpse of their faces, and she talks to Owen as if between shoots. She comes across like a sassy pop-diva aunt encouraging him to be more confident and mentors him to use his powers but there's is a mysterious/ sus-ness about her. She's not a villain in series, but only helps as she sees the antagonist as a common enemy and is unable to cross into our world. (hinted that she was a villainess in an ancient time and Owen is actually visiting her in her astral prison).

This was an old one from deviant art, her bio changed a bit for comic, keeping it as one of her looks. She supposed to look friendly at least to Owen so she wouldn't have the blood claws etc.

She mostly wears lots of pinks and whites, haven't completed her 3d model yet
Imagined she would wear new outfit every time you see her so I can see some of the coquette styles with lace and lots of textured fabrics

could see some ruffles and a bit of the vintage look too on one outfit
(thinking her mer-folk transformation can have some ruffles too),

she's implied to be ancient queen of the gods so her looks were meant to reflect different periods but with an ethereal-eeriness

Might keep the heavy makeup for one outfit but lessen it for some of her lighter looks, since she's trying to look friendly to Owen, this Coquette vibe might be exactly what i needed, thanks

oh, I think that's a croquette lol. Also that second dress is so pretty! It looks like something my character Verochka would wear

Mine is for sure Therese George, her style was vintage back in the day, and it just gets more vintage over time. It's inspired by pioneer-eras

Mev’s actual clothing doesn’t always look very cottagecore… But she lives in a cottage!!! At some point I’ll probably give her a more cottagecore fit, but I don’t have any pictures so far. I’m sure she makes flower crowns in the spring. Unfortunately spring won’t be coming in my comic for a while. (It’s fall currently)

My cottage core character would have to be Juniper.

She loves to collect snail (albit it being dead their dead dried out shells)
She is always seen in nature.
Juniper is a quiet girl however,she never speaks a word and would rather use sign language.
