Actually, I'd prefer they'd tell us if we even got through to the actual contest or not.
I mean, I entered the Kyoto Manga Awards on their site as well. The results got posted just now, and all the winners got translations (or were in Japanese to begin with). I don't mind not making the grade, but I wished they'd told me in advance the judges wouldn't even get to see my manga, or the reason why I didn't qualify for one.
I mean, I wanna get better at meeting industry standards and such, but this feels like dropping your manga into a wishing well.
Edit : Oookay, I just checked, and not a single one of the (english) Medibang entries for Kyoto won anything. While that's entirely possible, I'm starting to wonder if any of them even got a translation.
Edit 2 : Checked some more. Turns out in 2018, an english entry did make it as a finalist, but without any translation at all. I guess this year the english stuff just wasn't up to snuff. * sits in a corner and cries *
