2k words a day challenge?

You know this was something I was wondering about yesterday. If we sat down and wrote just 2k words throughout the day, then, in 30 days, we would have 60k words, well over the start of a novel. Now you don't have to do this with a new novel, but if you were stuck, perhaps this might be a way to start back up. No matter what, just sit down sporadically and knock out a chapter (or two) with your goal being 2k. More is obviously better!

Is anyone willing to try this with me for the next start of the month?

That's actually close to my goal if my premium pitch is accepted! Right now I work a full-time job in addition to writing, so it's not always possible, but if I am able to write full-time some day, my goal is to pen at least 15,000 words a week, with the condition that my "weekend" won't start until I reach the 15k mark.

Ohh! That sounds quite intense, but, considering it is only really 3k words a day, that is totally doable!

Sometimes it's really hard to write anything at all just because of time commitments, lol. Between work, family, friends, and strenuous proofreading, editing, and rewriting, sometimes it can be a struggle to have enough time to even produce a thousand words every few days. But when I am off work and family and friends don't bug me and I can just focus, I can easily produce a 1,200 word episode start to finish in a couple of hours. But I get distracted reaaaaaaly easily lol. That's why I hope I can write full-time some day, because then I'll have a lot more time to write :D.

I can do this, I already plan on writing 2k a day starting from tomorrow(which starts in a few hours here) because of a challenge on Twitter. The goal is to write 75k words in 6 weeks.

And I agree, things will be hectic with tennis and starting a new job, plus studies. I would love to be a full time author, but I am just taking it one day at a time!

Thanks! I like your novel too! I'm definitely going to dive in deeper soon :D. Do you envision voices for your characters? In my head, Jaggerdaw and the Harlot are voiced by Mark Hamill and Arleen Sorkin, because, well... They kinda look like Joker and Harley, hahahaha. I created them in a Sims 4 opening:

I don't have specific voice actors/people that I envision/hear for my characters. Rather I just hear them. It takes place in a british sort of aspect (despite me being very american), but that's just what happens, I figure it is better for the overall mood/tone of the story.

I ended up setting my story in Portland because that's where I live, lol. Plus since my team of superheroes are very progressive and forward-thinking, it seemed like the perfect place to put them :D. Four members of the team are LGBTQ+, including one who's genderfluid. Their leader is essentially a gay black Superman and is the foundation of their group.

EDIT: To clarify, Mallory Dane is not the leader. I wanted someone other than the "main" character to fill that role :D.

Well, being somewhat gay myself (biromantic) , I do love the way that sounds. Gay black superman, intriguing to say the least.

His superhero alias is Captain Luminary, but his real name is Emmett Haldeman and his current love interest is a latino named Sebastian. They will have some major romance scenes in future episodes.

I also have a separate story idea that I will be turning into a novel either later this year or early next year called "He Wore Black Velvet," and it's a Victorian BL Fantasy about a young man who is thrown out of his village for being gay, so he travels to the Free City of Aedyria and is eventually taken in by an eccentric rich mage who always wears black velvet suits. The two eventually form a strong bond while simultaneously dealing with deep political corruption within the guilds that run the city.
