So, I know this is nothing new, but they're fun to do anyway: Who wants to do a weekly (or whenever?) 5-color art challenge? I do these now and then when I don't know what to draw, and need some fresh inspiration. Sometimes I get awesome art out of them, sometimes it just turns out okay. Either way, I drew something!

My 'rules' are:
1) You need to use every color somehow. How you use them is up to you.
2. Linework and/or black and white elements are fine

Here's my current 5-Color palette, which I got from the color generator site https://coolors.co/31

There is no 'due date' for these -- do your art when/if you feel like it. I'll try to post new color palettes on Mondays, though. Have fun!

this is honestly perfect since i've been feeling relatively demotivated so sure why not

Since I had the time to sit down and do this, and markers don't take long...

This is a TERRIBLE scan that was heavily photoshopped to even 80% resemble the original (If anyone with Copics at home has any of those colors, then you know how 'off' this image is...), but... here's my take on those five colors!

I kinda like the challenge of seeing how closely I can match the digitally generated colors. Usually I get pretty close. Sometimes, no dice. Scanning is the real pain, though. Especially with my new scanner. The old one was much, much better calibrated.

Added a little more difficulty with a character with a little color palette, Flamebird, from DC Comics.
I had a bit of trouble with the green, so I just end up leaving it on the eyes.
Also take the opportunity to practice pose, muscles and shadows.

Augh, I love all of these! Also love seeing the alternate palettes, and what comes out of those. I'm glad folks are having fun with this.

Very nice!

I like to think I'm fairly good with colors. I just clicked on the palette until I arrived at a combo of colors I liked.

Thanks. I had tested on a small draft first so to see how it could work

New challenge. Here are five different 5-color palettes.

And here is a random word generator.

Pick a palette, generate a word... and go play.
