Hey guys, I recently ran into a small possible problem with my comic Dragoons as I work on it. I had a friend and fellow writer on tapastic who helped me a lot on it both directly and indriectky with it. However unfortunately a month or two ago, I had a nasty fall out with them to the point where they won't acknowledge that I exist or anyone who mentions me near them. The trouble come in when I realized that I adopted some of their ideas for my own comics, but in a different way. (I'm not straight up plagiarizing them, but I did take some minor inspiration from their work among some other rfirneds who helped as well.) I remember that even when they were in speaking terms, they always prickled at the mere mention of anyone taking even the slightest influence from their works in general. Another rfirend of mine then pointed out their stuff was heavily influence by final fantasy and he mentioned that I could not only get into trouble with my old firend, but possibly with square Enix as well.
I can't contact them at all thanks to the falling out, (they not only ignore me, but they also blocked me on all fronts as well.) but I feel I still need to ask them given how much of an influence they had on the production of my comics and writing during the months we were friends.
Though part of me is wondering if I'm just looking for excuses for not working on my comic given how tied I feel it became to them and how much it reminds me of my broken friendship with them.
What do you guys think?
