I have no idea if making a somewhat lengthy post purely for self-promotion is a no-no, but I feel I need to take a chance here, even if it doesn't work.
So, I'm super passionate about my story—even if it doesn't begin to compare to the other stories created by far more talented people than I on here—and I still really want to try to boost exposure to it as my ambitions for it are growing. Like, I can't even really explain all the plans I have here since I don't want to take up too much of anybody's time (they're on my Tapas profile wall though if anybody's curious).
Here's my attempt at a summary:
My comic/novel story is entitled RDH, taking place in a small town known as Riptide, Texas. The story follows three high school social pariahs (Rob, Daniella, Henry) that bond together over common issues pertaining to family and loneliness. From then on, they find themselves getting into various adventures and shenanigans together, ranging from downhill derby racing their bullies and fighting an armed criminal while wearing custom superhero costumes, to being secretly stalked by a shapeshifting shadow figure with unknown motives and toying around with a conspiracy theory that they're all actually fictional characters.
I totally realize that in general it sounds like just another typical-sounding teenage story, and that's probably why it's not very recognized in the first place, but while there's a lot of similarities to others in the genre, I promise it's still its own unique thing; and I won't lie, it's tough to describe exactly what all I've put into it without typing a whole novel's worth of text, but hopefully what I wrote towards the end of the summary above gave you an idea of what you can expect if you do decide to check it out.
I'm creating a world, and it's a world I'm wanting more people to see. I know in my gut that my story will resonate with someone, because it's resonated with me so much and it's really helped me get through this past year or two when nearly everything else has pretty much failed for me.
I've put so much into it, and I just want to see it do some good. So, here's the links to what I've got. Thank you for taking the time to read this, truly:
