This is also kind of an old post I made a year back. But anyways, enjoy...
I'm sure all of you have heard of the anime "Attack on Titan". But i'm sure if you never heard of a movie called "It's Alive". Well, I have a link to movie to so you'd get what i'm trying to say about this theories.(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%27s_A…)
So, lemme give you a little info on both these subjects. Attack on Titan is an anime series based on a manga that is about a city being under attack by humanoid giants called "Titans" Who seem to eat people for no reason, and several people go off to fight against these Titans.
It's Alive is a horror movie from the 70's about a couple who are about to have a child, but what they don't know is that when the child is born, it's a horrifying deformed creature(cause by medications the mother took that contain somewhat harmful chemicals.) that kills people and escapes to the city to kill more people. So the father of the child goes to kill it before anyone else gets killed. The movie has later spawned two sequels years later: "It Lives Again" and "It's Alive III: Island of the alive." And has even gotten a remake in 2008, which was a bad one at the most.
Now you might be wondering, what does an anime about giants destroying cites and eating people and a horror movie about a killer infant have in common?
Well, I feel that somehow, both these subjects are connected to each other. Why? Well, i'm about to tell you right now...
So, as I told you, It's Alive had two sequels, with It Lives Again taking place after the first movie with more mutant killer infants taking over cities and killing people. Island of the Alive takes years after the sequel, where all the killer babies have been taken to an island and have grown up, only to make more children(and interestingly, these deformed mutants can grow more and reproduce more faster than the average human.)and kill some people who come to island on vacation.
My theory is that Attack on Titan takes place many years after It's Alive and its sequels. How would I connect this? Well, Because the mutants have been living on an island for a long time, it would take place many years after Island of the Alive, perhaps somewhere in the distant future, and the island has been affected by nuclear radiation after so many nuclear weapon tests have taken place near the island.
Due to this, the mutants in the island have been affected so much to the radiation, they have grown to enormous sizes and became more savage and powerful than before. And with this, they have escaped the island and began taking over every major city in the world and began eating people as well. Eventually, the reason why the giant mutants are called "Titans" is unknown. But the people have decided to fight back against the now called Titans.
So for one hundred years prior to the story of Attack on Titan, mankind has won the battle, and most of the humans live in a country surrounded by giant walls to protect them against the Titans, and have lived in peace for one hundred years now, until the Titans have break in the walls and now mankind has to fight back again. But you'll have to see AOT for that.
Anyways, you might be wondering if AOT takes place many years after It's Alive, why does the setting of the anime look like it takes place in a sort of medieval time. Well, Here's my theory.
Because the Titans have taking over many cities in the distant future, they must have destroyed at least most of mankind's technology, and after they manged to fight against the Titans, the remaining of Humanity had no choice but to live in a postmodern time, which explains why the technology on the AOT looks very steampunk-like, the country that is surrounded by the giant walls the people live in has somewhat of a steampunk environment. Which is why the setting of the anime looks what it is.
Anyways, this is my theory on why I think It's Alive(and the sequels) is connected with Attack on Titan. So that's it for now, I hope you enjoyed reading this as I enjoyed writing it.
See ya soon!
P.S. I'm not expecting you to actually take this seriously. I just did this for fun, that's all.
