Hey everyone, when writing fight scenes in your novel, what do you focus on the most—your character's movements and reactions, or the attacks they deliver?

Do you prioritize the internal experience, the choreography, or the impact of each strike.

I tend to focus on the battle strategy. Like how they do things in shonen anime...

I don't have experience writing battle scenes in novels. Although the concepts of text and images are different, when it comes to my comics, what I value most is reading fluency.
I want readers to understand at a glance what I'm drawing, rather than having to stare at the panels and think for several seconds.

From a future scene in ADB... focus on back and forth arguments while the fight is in progress between 2 combatants....

"What do you think your parents would think of this? Do you want to keep living a deluded life full of lies? And is this really what you wanted for yourself? Do any of these things make you happy? What about your soul? Don't you care about that?"

"MY PARENTS ARE JUST LIKE YOUR TYPICAL FUCKING WORKAHOLIC ASIAN PARENTS!!! ALL THEY DID WAS TELL ME TO STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, AND MORE STUDY!!! MY SOCIAL LIFE SUFFERED!!! SOCIAL LIFE IS WHAT GETS YOU AHEAD IN LIFE!!!"

his attacks get more aggressive and reckless. He is angered.

I'm another comic guy, but I'm writing a fight sequence right now. My focus has been on the mental states of the combatants - the core of it is seeing the characters puzzle their way out of the situation, combined with high emotions and some lore hooks. If I'm successful, there will also be some kickass art to go with that.

In novels I've read, the scenes I like best are the ones that are the most reflective of the character. For instance, action scenes with Bilbo Baggins focus on how frustrating and confusing the situation was. I also greatly enjoyed the fight sequences in the Star Wars Revenge of the Sith novelization. Those sequences really got into the character's mind so that their battle was an extension of their core beliefs, their philosophy, their soul. The choreography takes second place, which is just fine if you don't have a corresponding visual element. Nobody's going to be impressed by the hero's triple backflip in a sentence the way they would be if it's on stage.

I made about 5-6 fighting scene + a full blown battle scene between two armies. There are others but one is a massacre with barely any fight scene and the other is fending off a giant beast almost as big as a cruise ship. So far, choreography is my priority. The problem I'm facing is trying to avoid the fight to feel one-sided, but the only thing that's worrying me is the viewers not understanding the fight scene. I'll show you the multiple fight scene:

I try to keep my fight scenes concise... emphasizing on the impacts and the emotions involved. I'm still trying to figure out how to accurately portray the gravity of a fight... drawing inspiration from different manga/ anime. My webcomic has a wide range of combat sequences - from hand-to-hand to long-range battles against titanic creatures.
