This really worries me, because it heavily favors short slice of life and comedy series.
No matter how much you earn, you will always earn more by uploading shorter parts or extra's like Q&A's. Webtoons has always said they prefer long chapters, but this is the exact opposite.
For example if you publish 2 chapters a month of 5 pages each, you can turn that in 10 updates of 1 page and you will earn 5 times as much.
The problem is that small series probably won't get away with this, since you might grow slower when using this schedule, but series that already have a big audience will just spam out short updates and their fans will read it no matter what. Series that heavily rely on a deep story are really hurt by this.
I hope they change things to make this more fair (more ads of the upload is longer? A minimum length needed per chapter to get ads?) because I think this will hurt both creators and the platform.
