CHILDREN OF SOL ISN'T JUST MECHS THOUGH
It's got a lot of overarching plotlines, and a mix of genres. One thing that gets overshadowed are the heavy religious influences, especially with the sun worship. Holy Sol and Helena. It doesn't appear as much in the first volume due to the focus being the characters, but it will start to shine more in the second and third volume.
But all around the story you can see references to Helena, such as her statues and cathedrals. Mentions of her name. Even in the expressions of the characters being "Oh, Sol!" or "Holy Sol!", or even "Sol, no!"
You can find the sun imagery in the mechs, and in Latevia's design. Everything is meant to have a reference to the sun. "May his holy light guide you, and his rays shine upon your day".
Speaking of Helena...
HELENA, THE GODDESS OF THE SUN

Yes, she has four arms. It makes her more... otherworldly. She has six wings too, and can use some special powers and abilities. I won't spoil them here. Go read the the story.
She is actually the very first character I had commissioned. Her original very first art piece does have some slight nsfw, because her chest is exposed (I wanted her to be like those old renaissance paintings) but I know I can't put that here, so here's another one where she's not exposed. Yes! This is also commissioned, and the artist is also part of the Mysfits Team. All the story's art is commissioned, and I work very closely with them. I have a bunch of them who joined the team and are my go-to when having art for the story made.
