Alternative to "Anime tch"

Hopefully a quick little topic where I can get a quick little answer. :'D

You guys know what I'm talking about, right? The classic "tch" sound that's become an infamous anime trope.

Aaand of course, because now I'm actually TRYING to find it, I can't find a single example other than that single random image. But if you watch anime or read manga, you know what I'm talking about right?

Well ANYWAY, I have a page coming up that...calls for a "tch" but I just can't take them seriously anymore since they've practically become a meme. But I don't know what other noise he'd make! I'm sure I'm at a point where I'm over thinking this but...do you know of any alternatives to "tch?"
I'd just put something like a sharp, "Fine," but he says that literally in the next panel and the page just seems rushed to me if I don't have just some sort of reaction...grunt? noise before he starts to chew the other character out in the next panel.

Wow, all of this sounds really silly once I actually type it out, but I'm kind of stumped here. :'D Help is appreciated!

But I used "Tsk" in mine

TSK IS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE! I'm not sure if it's exactly what I'm going for in this particular page, but it might do just to avoid the Tch.
Honestly I don't think anyone else would even giggle over it other than me, but it's a very serious scene and I don't want to be snorting at my own page in a scene I've been dying to get to for months... :'D

I dont have a visual example, but when I'm annoyed and the 'Tch' sound would be appropriate, I kind of make a 'ffff' sound (my humorous annoyed) or a 'tss' sound (my angry annoyed)...but they're not as visually appealing as the 'Tsk' or 'tch' (I did notice the over abundance of 'tch' in manga/anime...one of the reasons I kind of lost interest was repeated sound effects)

I use "tch" sometimes, but when I want to avoid it, I use "tsk", and a bunch of times Masahiro's just gone "hnrgh" instead, because growling is totally an acceptable subtitute when you're grumpy.

wow, i didn't know it was a thing people avoided now - or that it has become a meme :0 but yea i would suggest pretty much the same as the other people have suggested in this thread
