Uhm, sorry if this question is inappropriate or not suited for this forum but it kept me busy for quite a while.
I was wondering if there are websites for searching and archiving webcomic information.
Let's say you want to search for specific kinds of comics (tags, genre, style) and want to see if it's well received (e.g. reviews - a bit like amazon comments). Where do you look for new comics? It's difficult to find new stuff that suits my taste on tapas or webtoons. Yes. There is a search function (and the forum for reviews). But you have to open the comic and read a bit before you decide to continue or not. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I don't invest a lot of time for this decision. So a lot of comics get unnoticed by me just because the first impression wasn't satisfying me (or even worse - the icon didn't make me click).
Also, sometimes I especially want to search for completed stories. I don't know how to filter them here on tapas or elsewhere. It's extremely hard to find "good" comics (in the sense of "they suit my taste") if they're not popular right now. A lot of reader's time investment is demanded just to find something he may like.
That's why I wish/ look for a page where people can search for webcomics and creators provide their blurb, cover image, upload and support platforms - just the basic information you need. Reviewers could contribute with a short review.
This way it's easier for reader to find what they want and can get recommendations. I know there are a lot of helpful people here in the forums who review and promote each other. But as a reader I don't want to gather my information across different platforms. I want to have one place where I can look for new stuff.
So the question is: Is there a website that does this? Or is it just not really wanted by readers and creators?
