'Anime' that isn't from Japan

The French origin of "anime" was very prevalent in France at these times, I know it's debatable and generally considered as less likely than the English origin; I don't personally have an opinion, I'm FAR from being a specialist, I have no interest in anime and no knowledge of Japanese. I was just remembering these funny times of bickering in the French anime community

I do know just enough Japanese to know that some adopted Japanese word used by anime fans aren't quite the same as used in Japan. I do have a little chuckle when somebody calls themselves an "otaku".
