Wow, I'm getting a lot more interest in this than I thought xD
Okay, so here's the rundown of what I will be doing:
In about a week, I'll be gathering up all the interested artists and picking one. Because it's one illustration, only one can do it this time, however we can have more guest chapter illustrations done for future chapters, so if you DON'T GET PICKED, don't fret, you could get picked for the next one! (like I already have Quinn_Li queued up as an interested artist for Chapter 6 because she won't have time to do one for Chapter 5, which is fine).
First off, I'd like to make a new request of y'all - if you're interested, and if you have a comic on Tapastic, which I'm assuming the majority of you do, please link to your Tapastic profile on-site (not in the forums!) so that I can see your guys' stuff, because that does help the deciding process (maybe your style works for the mood of a certain chapter or for Time Gate overall, etc.) If you don't have a comic, then you can just send some pics of your art or something through DA or image uploading, whatevs floats your boat.
HOWEVER! if you don't get picked, don't let this limit you to not doing any guest art anyway! I love featuring guest art, because it's super fun to see what you guys come up with and create, plus a lot of the time they end up getting featured in Time Gate anyway so it would be good for you guys to show off your stuff to potential readers as well ^ ^
That being said, you sort of have two choices:
1.) If you don't get picked to do the chapter illustration, I can queue you up for the next set of chapters, and you can wait until then.
Pros: You'll already be considered to do a chapter and on the list, and you'll have even more time to get ready.
Cons: Waiting. Not fun for the impatient, especially if you don't get picked again for the second queue of volunteers.
2.) You can do guest art anyway (which you can do anytime, for a chapter cover or not, that's still always optional and up to you! Take Min's interpretation of Time Gate for example that she did in a livestream. And then later on, if I need a chapter cover done, I could just take yours and use it then (with your permission of course).
Pros: The art's already done, you'll get featured for it one way or another, and you don't have to wait to flex your drawing finger.
Cons: It might not get featured as a chapter cover, just as a standard guest illustration, but either or it will still be featured, it will still be awesome, and I might decide to use it as a cover as soon as I can!
