Thank you! I had a lot of fun with the effects!
I had a little too fun with this... hope you like it Tapastic! ^^ [image]
[image] Old fanart for Autumn's Journey featuring Ilmari [image] Even older fanart for the original little mermaid story where she turns into seafoam at the end. In this drawing she makes her last wish as she turns to seafoam. I don't have any recent fanart to show. ><
Uni student here studying computer science, to hopefully make a living as a game developer/programmer in the future while creating my comics as a side hobby. ^^
what's your name on Tapastic? yuubie where are you from? US are you a creator of any stories? if yes, how many? (including in progress stuff) could you name them and what they're about? I create Lollicats which is about hamster-sized kitties going floof. I also have a WIP with a deeper story, but…
When I speak with people in Japanese, I refer to these visual stories as 'manga'. When I speak with people in English, I refer to them as 'comics'. Since as mentioned by the original post, the two words mean the same thing in their respective languages. It reminds me of how some people like giving…
I think any kind of character is important if they have the power to move the story forward. In fact, I think all characters in a good story should have this power. They don't have to necessarily do anything badass or have supernatural powers - if their choices and actions actually contribute to adv…
Personally, my characters and world-building happen together. Most of the time I create my characters first; really put a lot of thought into shaping their personalities, let them run loose, and they'll GIVE their stories to you. The world just tends to naturally form around them as they tell you th…
If my characters were real, one thing I would do for every single one is apologize to them for all the pain and crap I put them through. It was all necessary to help them grow within their stories, but it still hurts to see the characters born from my heart suffer. I think it's important to empathiz…
Bun bun! [image]
This kind of strays from the original question, but I want to hear what people think - what if it's the other way around? If an artist has decent art that they don't mind putting out there, but he/she's not so confident about their story idea or delivery? Should they also just go ahead and start as …

My first draft actually didn't start on paper or computer ^^ [image] These fluffies have come quite a way, looking back now >< [image]
I learned to draw without any art school or mentors. I did of course develop my drawing skills through lots of observing other drawings and some tutorials online. My mom was an art teacher, and she was rather surprised when she saw how well I started to draw animals at less than 6 years of age, give…
I can't believe no one mentioned this one yet! and yes, Wolfsong is one of my all-time favorites as well <3
Adding onto the ones mentioned, GraphicsGale is a simple, free-to-use program specifically for pixel art. Of course, you will need to download it.
I'd also be happy to volunteer ^^ Edit: http://tapastic.com/Freith http://yoosb.deviantart.com/ There you go!
[image] This was way back when I first got my graphics tablet and played around with it. The natural drawing feeling felt amazing compared to all those times I used my laptop's touchpad to draw. Never going back. ^^

100% digital. ^^ Been doing it ever since I had a laptop and because I love ctrl+z. <3
[image] "Sorrowful Tomorrow" ...I really did go overboard with the sparkles. ><;;
Haha. >< I never draw when someone's watching, but that would be hilarious.
I always find myself with an intense death stare (no matter what the character expression), usually while doing lineart. ^^ Then I sleepily blink for a while at something far away before returning to my work. Repeat.

I totally recommend Clip Studio Paint, it's amazing. $15 is absolutely worth it!
In my free time, I love drawing my webcomics ofc, developing games (I'm learning how to incorporate Leap Motion into them), longboarding, playing games, watching game playthroughs, browsing through deviantart and other art/comic sites, reading comics, posting on my social media and blogging sites, (…
