Any comic books and reading book recommendations to read to get into books again?

I like cute and action based comics? I also like gag and comics with cute characters but a dark story sometimes (but I don’t want it to be gory or have blood). I also want wholesome and funny/gag comics and reading books as well. Any recommendations for comic books and reading books? They can be in English and Spanish comics , Japanese manga, or Bande dessinée comics (Europe and franco-Belgian comics).
I like Takopi’s Original sin, chiikawa, look back, hotel strange (hotel estrange by Katherine Ferrier), jelly and narwhal, el deafo graphic novel by cece bell, and would like to read other comics and reading books.
I would also like some advice on how to read and make comics and write them and make them interesting in my own way.

I would recommend Watchmen, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the works of Charles Dickens, Thackeray, MacDonald, and Tolstoy.

Dark humour and unusual story. I like the "sloppy"
not too polished art and I also thinik it is quite cute.

Id read "way of the peaceful warrior" and its sequels and spin-offs. Debatable if its true story or fiction. But good plot and lessons too.

If you're looking for recommendations on Tapas as well, I would suggest checking out Hue Are You. It's about robots and set 100 years after humans are all dead. So cute robot art but with something darker that's hinted about here and there in the background.

If you enjoy that one, the author had three series planned for that world but they're focusing on one at a time to not overwhelm the artist. Additionally, they have another unrelated ongoing comic and the author has 3 novels in other genres.

Uhh, idk, maybe gintama? Total gag manga with surprisingly good story line and dark moments too.

Try Wandering Witch: Journey of Elaina. Or you can also try Secrets of the Silent Witch. These two are both light novels.

As for asking for advice on how to make comics and write them... just do it? There are no fancy rituals or pre-existing conditions you need to do in order to draw your own comic or manga.

I say this with love, I assure you, but you really need to start now regardless of your skill level. If you're already good at it, awesome! If not, well, we have to start somewhere, right? It's only by being bad that we'll see on what needs to be improved and work towards that improvement.

And yes, that means being open to feedback, too.

My tip when receiving feedback is to feel your feelings, sleep on it, and then come back to it with fresh eyes and perspective. It's normal to be initially defensive when getting feedback; every creative knows this. But it's also through feedback that we'll grow. You can choose which feedback resonates with you, and put aside those that you don't need.
