Any Movie(s) Worse than Tales of Earthsea?

Honestly, it was the worst experience of my life. So bad, that I don't even want to waste my time dissecting it, when I could be lurking the forums.

Ahhhh now this is my kind of post, if there's one thing i love its horrible horrible movies. if you want bad movies to watch then let me know, but here are some really bad movies. Jarring is just bad, like not even funny bad, just bad. rubber is bad, but has a very entertaining premiss. and birdemic: shock and terror is just hard to watch, but the effects make it almost a comedy.

Howl's Moving Castle. Just as bad as Earthsea if you've read the books.
And that Borrower's movie they did.

The 2 live action Paddington movies.
And the Country Bears movie from Disney.

Dragon Wars: D-War(2007)

i did not get tales from earth sea when i first saw it, i have never read the books and could not work out the dragon bit at the end ( trying not to give spoilers) anyhow i came across this thing on you tube that explains a lot went on behind the scenes making this movie and it sort of changed my pov on it.

the art work is just as good but they over packed the story.

and if your looking for worse movies try watching fear and loathing in las vagas ,i had to turn it off and i never do that with movies.

This is a bit weird, since I do have a special fondness for so-bad-they're-funny B movies. On the other hand, if a movie - however well produced - doesn't inspire, engage, or entertain me, or if it upsets me, I will leave. I've left over simply just losing interest in a movie. I simply don't sit through a movie if I don't deem it worth my time. So the two worst movies I sat through are Election Day and Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. In the former, I hated every single character so much, I might have been happier if suddenly a nuke dropped on them or perhaps even on me. The other was OK-ish if I didn't consider it part of Planet of the Apes canon... until the ending wrecked even that. The only reason I tortured myself in sitting through them is because we paid for theater tickets.

At least the fun part was that the husband and I hated them together.

I actually liked the power of a name idea from the movie, but it's an old idea that's been done in other things - I can't recall where - but I know it's not original to Earthsea series. I knew about it immediately when it happened in the movie and thought it was cool to include that. But like, I have no idea where I learned it from.

Personally speaking I feel like "Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise" was just as slow paced and dragging on as "Tales of Earthsea".

also @mariusthered I was surprised the audience score is so high for Fear and Loathing on Rotten Tomatoes! The premise made it seem like critics would like it as sort of an art house film, but they didn't and I side with them and agree that the plot meanders too much and there's no character development! At least the cinematography was nice and the visuals were interesting at times.

the problem i had with fear and loathing is it just drags and drags, half the time your working out what the hell's going on and the other half you waiting for the story to kick in. I have a book on witting movie scripts that says the story needs to engage in the first ten minuets. with fear and loathing your still waiting for a story after 30..i turned it off and it's never been off the shelf since.

I forced myself to sit through the whole thing since it's regarded as a 'classic'. Although I don't hate it as much as you, I don't think I'd watch it again. xD

Doesn't stop me from enjoying Howl or Earthsea I actually wished I owned Earthsea since it's fun to rewatch from a novelist perspective going in. But as far as Ghibli movies, meeeeehhhh. And extra meh on that Borrower's one shouts like an old person for kids to get off my lawn
You cannot convince me the live action Paddington movies were any good though.

The main character was bland and unlikeable. There was no semblance of an interesting plot, and it had very mediocre cinematography. I closed the tab I was watching it on after 15 minutes.
