Any Opinions about WebComics?

I don't hear much talk about the site and app, Webcomics. They have thousands of more downloads than Tapas and Webtoons and people seem to really like it, but I don't hear much talk about them, especially from the creators of some of the comics shown. Has anyone ever had a comic published there before? Is it really as good as a site that they portray themselves to be!?

I just went over to look at their site, and it seems pretty one track minded in the content it's looking for. Their biggest genre is romance and they have a pretty short list of genres in the first place. It doesn't seem like a welcome place for those work creating outside of the preferring formatting and art styles and genres that are prominent on the platform. But I don't use the site or app, so I'm merely looking at the surface.

I did notice on the front page that one of the contributors is a someone who frequents the forums.

I heard a rumor that they fib their numbers so it looks like you have more engagement than you actually do... that way you keep coming back.

I don't know if it's true so I'd love to know if anyone else has heard that too.

If a new series releases on webcomic (original or canvas), it will be on the homepage for a few days, so more people read it.

I just recently published my work there a week ago and so far these are the things I can tell you about

1. Submission - you have to email them your work/ the link to your work and then it will be reviewed by the editor.
2. There's going to be a contract --- there are two types of contract that they might offer in case you submitted your work: The exclusive contract and the non exclusive contract, I signed the non exclusive contract and I can say that I don't have any issues with it because It clearly stated that the IP rights shall be retained by me, the author/creator, also the one I'm conversing through actively answers questions and clarification. Also, it's a requirement to sign the contract before they publish your work in their platform.
3. Publishing - It didn't took long for them to publish my comic but I guess it depends? I am not one of the early members before but in case you have read it on that thread I read that, earlier they used to send the episodes before it get published? But now, it's different, once you have passed the reviews and signed the contract, they will give you a link for you to upload your chapters. Also when you publish a new episode it will go through another review before it will be published.
4. The content guidelines review - You really need to be mindful of your content especially if it has mature themes, if you need to abuse that mature filter button when publishing an episode because of a guy's nipple be sure to do it just to be safe. The audience in that platforms are actually quite young but I also noticed that they are more tolerant/friendly towards to BL, GL & LGBTQ+ genres.
5. All new comics are displayed on the front page of the app, regardless whether it is exclusive or not -- I've estimated you have a week of exposure in the front page/homepage
6. The support system and Ad revenue has a requirement of 2000 subs, but I noticed in my case it's pretty easy to unlock because of your exposure in the front page /home page --- I cannot tell about the ad revenue and support system that much because I just started a week ago, and I think they compute it on every 20th of the month.
7. I cannot really tell if the things they say that they fake the numbers because my comic is doing pretty well in both webtoons and Tapas already when I placed it there but I did noticed that the numbers is quite higher in there in terms of views but then I remember my comic is still displayed on the front page so that must be it. --- besides, it slows down to my average pacing/ growth same as on my tapas and webtoons once it's off the front page... But your comic will appear on the contributions' front page every time you update.
8. What I can say is that the reader community is more active and vocal there, they comment on chapters actively-- also those who comments tend to be more vocal in their opinions. The app has something like it's own social media platform in it because you have a profile and followers and you can post on your wall and use tags in there.
9. Overall in my one week of experience, I can pretty much say that I have no problems so far, just overwhelmed by how active the community in there.

I've been with them for a while and I'm not sure if they fib their numbers or not, but I can tell you that they are super supportive.
Is not as self service as Tapas or Webtoon but you get to speak to an editor and work out any problems you might have.
