work for hire.... listen to an old fart... do it when you're hungry and there's nothing else, at least for this type of company.
On the other hand, it can be a hell of a teacher.
For those of you who have read my posts before the upcoming is old news: I worked for 12 years as a staff writer for an audio drama company writing a lot of episodes of their flagship show. I learned how to write in someone else's "voice" (it's easier than it sounds, at least it was for me), I learned how to work with what I was allowed to work with and still put my own spin on things, and I learned how to vomit up work within a short time frame.
It's good training.
Would I do it again. NOPE, NEVER NYET, NADA, uh uh.
why? Because I want to finally write my own stuff.
But if I was hungry... i'd think about it.
Oh... I also did work for hire in advertising copy writing.
