Anyone currently writing a Xianxia or Wuxia?

I feel like our sect doesn't have a strong presence here. I wonder why? Anyway, here's my story.

Edit: We should band together and keep this forum alive, so that our sect could flourish in the future.That said, I'm going to come back here every now and then.

Why did you remove it from Tapas?

I figured it was about time I try and make some money off of it. the first three chapters are free on vella if you want to give them a look. and they're giving out 200 free tokens I guess. It would be nice to get a "like" or two (even if you don't like them) Wuxia on vella is really small so we're getting overlooked like crazy.

Vol I and II are up for binging and then three is loading in daily: (you need to be logged into amazon or have downloaded the vella app on an iphone if you have iphone.

I'm writing a xianxia! It's called Dao of the Salted Fish....and it does a HELL lot better on Scribble Hub and Chrysanthemum Garden than on Tapas.

The reason it's not popular on tapas is because...the readers are just not here. You're probably better off on somewhere like Royal Road or Scribble Hub or Webnovel if you write xianxia, because that's where most xianxia readers are... (as far as I know)

As for the reason why xianxia/wuxia/xuanhuan isn't that much popular here is probably because tapas in general catered to western fantasy audience than their asian counterparts. Like, I don't think people here would've ever heard of xianxia/wuxia if it weren't thanks to MDZS and TGCF popularity.

Also, the nature of Chinese fantasy is tiny bit complex (?) to understand. Especially , if you're not quite familiar with the cultures and customs in Asia/Ancient China in general. There's definitely some learning curve needed before people can appreciate the genre wholeheartedly.

That's possible. Though I think it's more likely for us to find Joseon/Goryeo historical fantasy than wuxia/xianxia.
