Ahh! Good! I also tried checking out the comic on my phone, but for whatever reason I can't open NSFW images on the mobile app, so I had to stop because I couldn't follow the story without those pages. D: I don't have this issue on the computer so I'll try again there.
Actually reading the bio, they have more in common than I thought! I mean her and Sekhmet could chat about both being a persicuted species. Amber's race is only bred for enslavement, and their culture and history was completely wiped clean. So I'm sure they'd forge a pretty solid connection there.
Oh! And I also was lucky enough to have some other webcomic artists take a look at my prototype first chapter, and oh boy, I would honestly recommend that anyone do it because it was so helpful. Seriously, so many flaws and inconsistencies with the dialogue, layout, and characterization I just missed were pointed out to me and oh man, it's getting so much revising.
Even Amber got a complete design change because it was noted that most people reading the prototype couldn't tell she was a different species, and that fact is so central to her character, that missing that would be a huge misstep for me.
So now the pyromancer race, instead just being huge humans are now giant flaming humanoid armadillo/pangolin people. Kind of wanted them to read like mammalian dragons and while being more beast-like than human in the face still retaining good features for emoting (like armor plate eyebrows yo).
So, anyone out there that has their intro and hasn't published it yet, you should totally ask another webcomic artist you like to take a look at it. It helps out so much in the long run, and the worse they can do is just say "Sorry, no, don't have time." I uhh, recommend also getting an artist/writer that's uber experienced (several years doing it), because heck, I don't know what I'm doing and probably wouldn't be much help.
@marygold Oh, uhh, don't take this the wrong way, but you may want to consider changing your font choice. Comic sans has... in many ways become the butt of many a joke on the internet and the graphic design world. It might turn off a lot of readers, despite being such a minor thing. Might I suggest you grab a free professional font from Blambot? http://www.blambot.com/# It's a site designed for comic artists to find the right font for their comic. I personally choose to hand-letter mine, but I've heard nothing but good things from the site's content.
@iliketodraw Ahhhh, dat establish shot! Loving the clouds, and also I really dig that character that has the weird cowlick sideburns (not sure how to describe that hairstyle, sorry). He/she has a really unique character silhouette, which is just great.
Them thumbnails are lookin' good! Post more when you can!
