there are many tutorials about it, if you wanna use unity, you'll need a program called "Visual studio code", is free, is for programing, many languajes, like HTML5, CSS, java (web desing), python, C++, there are many code languajes you can search tutorials for,
but if you want to learn to code, I'm not really the guy you're looking for, I know basic things, and I could answer some questions, but I haven't done anythign very complicated.
here's a playlist of tutorials I found when I was studying this, I hope it helps, they're short videos that cover basic things at the beggining.

Just popping in to say that it's Unreal Engine that uses C++, Unity uses C#. They're relatively similar, but if you're learning code specifically for Unity, it's probably best to just learn C# rather than learning C++ and then learning to transfer that to the slightly different C# syntax.

That said, if your aim is just making a simple game for fun and you don't already code, something like VN Maker, RPGMaker, Game Maker Studio or similar might be better choices. If you're making a game as motivation to learn coding though, go for it with Unity or Construct.

I can't say because I haven't tried all the free programs. Ren'Py and NVList aren't bad. Adventure Game Studio seems okay but I'm not sure how it'd run on modern hardware, Game Maker Studio is harder, but can make a lot of different games. I haven't really tried the rest because most of my work on games I was in an artist role and we were working in Unity or Unreal with a coder.

A lot of my commercial work is harder to find these days because it was made for promo purposes or VR hardware that never took off, or was on projects that fell into development hell, but here are some of my past games. I worked mostly as either the main artist or one of the artists on these, and a tester, occasionally throwing in gameplay and story ideas...

you should do your own research and find which engine is most suitable to what you want to make
if you really try, you can make a visual novel in rpg maker or a turn based rpg in renpy but you're better off and more likely to get better results if you switch those engines
Also, keep in mind, that easy with mostly stuff you can click out without any coding will greatly limit what you can do (even in rpg maker there's only so much you can do without touching ruby or javascript - which depends on your version, or at least googling some ready scripts)
but in general, if you want something easy, no coding required, your best luck is with stuff with "maker" in name

as for general recommendations (depending on what you want to make)
vn - renpy - coding required but engine gives you basic project ready to run and a tutorial for basic commands to write a simple vn, but anything more complex you can quite easily find in its documentation or forum
old school rpgs - rpg maker, no need to go for anything fancier but do look up which version has stuff you may find useful
other types of 2d games - game maker studio
3d games - from experience, unity requires less powerful pc to work with and should be just fine unless you want to go for really realistic graphics, then unreal is your friend

There's no plan, it's for fun only.

Asking people to come aboard for a project without a clear plan might seem fun on the surface but over time it can become quite frustrating. Especially if you are asking for free labor from people.

Video games take a lot of work. And if there is no roadmap, team mates aren’t going to stick around. If you are planning on making a game to eventually sell, you need to pay people who helped you out.

Hi there!, it's been a while!

As someone that makes video games i can tell that rpgs are some of the games that are the hardest to program. (if you use rpg maker then you have that part kinda solved unless you want to get more experimental with some of the systems)

Visual novels can be easy to program, as long as you can program a mouse moving and things answering to a click you are done but those require the most art and obviously writing.

I already have a project on my own, but thought that these tips could help
