Anyone know how to make descent speed lines

I have tried to Google tutorials on this but all I get is Photoshop tutorials but only problem is I dont have Photoshop, so does anyone know how to make speedlines using either GIMP or KRITA
(PS if anyone has a tutorial or suggestion on how to do manga style hair highlights that would also be awesome, whenever I do them they look chunky😢)

I know it easy on Manga Studio/Clip studio with the rules tool, that's the one I use. I never heard of krita until now haha, I found this on google, it might be helpful:
"Speedlines
You can create amazing speedline effect with Krita.
Create another layer ; Select the 'Ruler Assistant Editor' ; display your 'tool option docker' to select 'Parrallel Ruler'.
Click on the canvas to create a new widget.
Then go back to the brush tool , and in the tool option activate the 'Assistant' checkbox.
Now all your lines should be parrallel to your ruler.
You can do various line width with your pen pressure.
When it's over, delete the ruler widget with the 'Ruler Assistant Editor' tool.
You can now transform your line to bring an additional fluid movement to them.
Note : You can also paint other type of Speedlines using other ruler. Feel free to explore."

Thanks I don't even know where you found this, I don't think the technique can work with circular speedlines but I'll do some experiments at least I have a starting point.😃

Medibang is another free art program and it has a super handy tool for both radial and speed lines

It is a little buggy and weak in some areas, though, so I wouldn't recommend it as the only thing to use.

I just tried it and the speed line tool is handy but at the same time its not to the degree that I would like it so I guess I'll just stick with Krita since it seems that there is no easy way to do professional/intense looking speedlines, thanks anyway for the recommendation though, I

I found this tutorial for GIMP circular speedlines but I'm not sure what style you're looking for.

I use Photoshop and it doesn't have great ways to make speedlines, either. So, my tricks might work in one of your drawing programs with some modifications:

Straight lines - Made some really long pointed brushes so I can paint on speed lines. Adjusting the brush spacing is important. For sideways or upside down lines I rotate the image 90 or 180 degrees, add the lines, then rotate it back.

Circular Zoom - Honestly, I find an existing image online and paste in in as a new layer. Set it to multiply blend mode and mask or erase the areas around the character.

You can definitely make radial zoom lines with Krita, just use the "Vanishing point" assistant instead of "Parallel lines" and follow the other steps from David Revoy's tutorial.
Crappy example I made right now, just use a proper inking brush and they'll turn out nicer I'm sure:
For what it's worth, I took a look at your comic and I can't really fault the way you draw hair highlights, in fact I quite like it : )
