Anyone one here use Pixiv?

Personally I use DeviantART for art and heard of Pixiv but it appears to be mainly Japanese, I think they have a English version for their site but I'm not sure I haven't really checked.
Also, if you do use Pixiv they announced Pixiv Factory a way to print your own fan made comic. Note: This isn't available internationally.

I've used it before and I got fuck all attention there. I swear I could even hear crickets.
I guess my stuff is simply not that appealing there.
Give it go anyway, it's free after all.

I've heard of it and a lot of artists I follow use it, but I personally don't really. The site looks interesting but since I'm not really an anime artist I wouldn't do well there. The comic thing looks cool though.

I'm on pixiv. Yes, there's an english option for the site and they even have a way of commenting using stickers now so as to try and get across language barriers. I actually get more attention there than on deviantart. XD I think it's because I know how to use tags so people interested in whatever the subject matter I drew is much more likely to find it. Like say... I drew someone with glasses I use the glasses tag in Japanese and boom, like, hundreds of views and a couple ratings. There's the occasional jerk but they're everywhere right? It's much less than on deviantart though.

You really only get anything on pixiv if you post any popular anime, or if you find something niche. I posted only 1 guro pic when I started my account and suddenly I got a bunch of followers. Also porn gets A LOT of views, obviously.

you have to make sure you use the right tags too... I usually only use tags in jp but sometimes jp people use both jp and english so that's double exposure to both communities I guess??

Also like @kpalmarin said, if it ain't anime or touhous, no one's gonna give a shit about your work

Aa, pixiv is a bit tricky, isn't it? I've been a member with them for 7 or 8 years. It's a great community, I love the image response events! I had only been on for a few months when スジャータ was doing a little promotional and everyone was making their own personifications of Sujata-chan. It was awesome to participate in, it's definitely how I made my friends over there. And fanart is always good for garnering viewership, nothing wrong with a little fanart! I even found an incredible needlefelt artist hikaru to do art trades and stuff with. She's awesome! I just PM'd her about her work and we started talking!

My most rated and commented submissions are my ink free textures. I've reached the 1000+ bookmark status with them and I've gotten tons of great feedback. Plus, they get image responses which it's so much fun to see how people use my watercolour and Chinese ink splashes in their work!
