Anyone read off Lezhin? (This mainly discusses BL)

If you read off Lezhin, what has been your favorite and least favorite comic from their site (doesn’t have to be bl)?

I find Lezhin to have some great art/storylines, especially since BL is the drama I tend to aim for and they’re heavy into that. But there are also some I can’t really get through.

I loved Jazz for Two, but I actually started liking the side character’s plot line more than the mains’ . And the creator is currently working on a side story with them, so I’m pleased.

I’m also really enjoying False Memories. The plot is really unique and I’m excited to get to understand the characters backgrounds further. And even Love/Hate is intriguing me (Though it’s hevier on sexy stuff than I usually prefer. I like me a good plot with sex here and there, but I also like a limit to it).

And I could NOT stomach Killing, Stalking. Like omg. So many people were loving that one and I gave it a try. So much gore and rape-type sex. It just left me feeling so gross when I finished a chapter.

Never heard of it! Just checked it out. Looks like a more BL-heavy Tapas.

It definitely is. BL gets away with WAY more there than they can on Tapas and especially webtoons. Though their coins for chapters are pricey ...

Sign, vanishing twin, miss guillotine and king's maker are my top reads. Atm I'm reading S Flower, lady and her butler, and playtime with hakdo. My least favorite so far (I hated how it was handled) was baker on the first floor, and guy like you. hoo boy those were rides.

I read a lot of a Guy Like You and I’m RIGHT there with you. Like why do I hate the grey haired dude so much? And why is the main just a piece of meat being flung around between two men with some bad blood? (It’s been so long I forgot their names).
It could have been a really great story if handled differently, like you said.

I think they have their own pool. If you go to their site and hit “ranking” you can select the genres your interested in and give a few of the plots a read. I think that’s your best bet in checking out their lists. Also... you can find some of them online for free... although I’m not sure it’s with the site’s approval.

It's not. If it was, you wouldn't need to pay for it on lezhin. There's a note on about every chapter stating this

I figured. It confused me because I've also seen some comic from Lezhin on MangaRock app for free... but maybe they haven't got the approval either? Anyway.
I buy coins off Lezhin, because I have the money to do it monthly for the chapters I read over there and I want to support the creators I enjoy. (Also, there's a discount for coins in a few days, whoot whoot!)

I used to support Lezhin and bought coins to support the artists, but after the controversy where they weren't paying their artists properly and just taking advantage of, I stopped supporting them altogether. I rather give my $$ to the artist directly, instead.

The only series I read was Killing Stalking because I personally do enjoy horror/gore genres, but after the first Season, it just felt weird to me? I don't know how Bum could enjoy staying with such an abusive person, plus I heard the ending was unsatisfying on reddit, because Bum still had feelings for him even if [spoiler]Sangwoo was cremated[/spoiler].

The reason I initally liked KS was because of the thrill, not the love story. Sorry for the long rant, but I haven't purchased anything off Lezhin in years, so I don't know what else they have to offer or if they even treat their creators better.

I’ve only read one forum about the controversy where I guess one artist outed Lezhin for their treatment of public. It did irk me. But I figured if the artists I enjoy are continuing on there, I still want to read their works. It does feel pretty icky though.

NO WAY?! See that makes no sense to me! It was the weirdest relationship dynamic, I couldn’t stomach it. Also, the horror aspect was fine and all that, but I wasn’t expecting it when I jumped in at first since I haven’t really read any other horrors but this one manga a while back called Shinrei Tantei Yakumo and that wasn’t so gory as it was “spooky” lol.
Maybe if I had been prepared I’d have been more open. Still not into the relationship those two had though. (Shiversssss)

That's fair! I don't know if they changed and treat their artists better now, but as long as you continue to buy coins and help the artists, then that's valid. It just didn't sit well for me personally, so it's still hard for me to look past it.

Yeah, I agree. At first I was like, "Ehhh-- maybe he'll get over his crush for Sangwoo because he gives him validation, but then he'll realize and move on", but... he didn't?? Not even at the end?? Sangwoo never viewed him as anything more even 'til the end and I just don't know how someone could continue to like someone like that, because he was just like everyone else in Bum's life (that didn't care much for him). Plus, the original thing that got me to read KS was the washing machine scene I thought was cool and creepy and I was expecting something like The Promised Neverland (like learning how to escape this psychopathic person).

Please do! In a weird way you’re making me get intruigued to just finish the series. I made it pretty far, but I kept feeling like (man... these sex scenes are hard to stomach with how the relationship is). I guess they truly focused on a weird “Stockholm Syndrome” aspect and went with it full on with it until even after the end (of Sangwoo)!

Haha, well feel free to check it out and finish it if you can (I personally skimmed the nsfw scenes, since it didn't offer much plot). But yeah, I was kinda hoping it wouldn't go into Stockholm Syndrome territory, but that's how it played out //sweats
But it's Koogi's story and she's free to tell it how she wants and I'll prolly check out her work if she makes more comics, since I think she was just stressed with the comic schedule every week, so she rushed to end it imo. Her storytelling skills are good when she has time to develop the plot and I've confidence in her next piece!

Definitely backlight. It's relatively on its early days, even tho it already has a season 2 I see so much more content available from details left and right so I d say it will be an easy 4 seasons... I cannot wait every Tuesday
