Like most creators, of course I'm regularly on web browser Tapas, because it's a convenient way to check notifications and upload pages and stuff. But when I'm settling down to read Tapas comics for fun, it's nearly always on the app on an iPad; I just feel like it's the most comfortable way to do it. and a nice break from my laptop.
I remember reading an interview with the CEO of Tapas that seemed to suggest that over 90% of all Tapas users are on the app, not browsers. The sort of people who read webcomics has shifted in recent years, and it's not just a "geek culture" thing people do on their PCs between PC gaming, coding etc. any more. The biggest audience on Tapas is 20 year old women who read on their phones.
I'd very strongly urge anyone who wants to build an audience and to get staff features to make their comics comfortable to read on a phone. If it's only comfortable on a computer monitor, you're limiting your readership to mostly just other creators, which is fine if you make your comic mostly for the community and artistic development side of things, but not great if you're aiming to grow a readership and make money off your comics.
