Are TAGS in separated pages even needed?

I googled, I swear, but found answers from 2016 etc

Do you use tags for new comic pages? Why are they even needed, most of us probably don't search comics by tags? But there is still that column "tags" each time I add new page. Did developers just forgot to remove it?

Tags for individual episodes don't have a function, like they don't help in search results like series tags do. I don't think it's a forgotten element, maybe a poorly implemented one.
