In my little novella I touch on fawning as a response to abuse-- specifically how sometimes it's the only way to keep yourself safe. It's also all quite allegorical and touches on some of the horrors womanhood and becoming a woman. And of course, bodily autonomy largely tied to the whole "being a woman" thing.

My novel is basically using Kindness as a power. There are some issues of prejudiced themes and accepting people based on their race. Nothing isn't heavy-handed handed but it's woven through the narrative to accept people regardless of who they are.

My story, Celestial Promise, mainly focuses on various themes, such as justice vs self-righteousness, forbidden love between people of different backgrounds, challenging the societal norms of tradition (as a marginalized person/woman/individual), immortality vs mortality, and hate vs love (many forms, not just romantic).

As people choose to obsess with becoming "more" than just human, they begin to lose parts of themselves. A few may do whatever it takes to get what they want...even when it's going too far.

BOHICA Blues isn't exactly autobiographical, but I do use my real-world military experience to relate --in humorous form-- what daily military life is really like. This isn't the explosions, battles, and Hollywood stuff... this is what happens when you get up in the morning and have 30 seconds to get ready to go do something that doesn't make sense. It started by relating my adventures in Iraq, and became a slice of army life from there.

I was there from 2004 to 2005. It was, essentially, an occupation at that stage, and there was some insurgency actions against US and allied forces, as well as a lot of civil war action among Iraqi factions that were settling scores among themselves. It was a mess all around, and really, the whole thing was unnecessary.

I am certainly focusing on issues in The Changeling's Sister.

I didn't think of this as I started the story, but twins are often used in literature to symbolise different parts of the same person, and I realised that the theme was centred around loss of identity and finding oneself again.

Basically the experience of going through life as a high-masking AuDHD and the harrowing journey it is to find out who you actually are. Of course not as explicit but in a much more symbolic fashion
