Are there comics out there that you're subscribed to but have stopped reading?

Yeah, I have a bunch that I don't really read anymore, but I mean, I still look at the page for the art and I always give it a heart. It's what I'd want someone to do. Getting hearts is something I appreciate.

I usually stop paying attention to a comic's story if it becomes too hard to follow. I usually don't unsubscribe though, but, I am loathe to do that. It's only if a comic starts really annoying me that I'll unsubscribe.

I have stopped reading due to lack of time. But I intend to get around to them.
Every comic I sub to I want to read... life happens and that's why we have binge reading!

This. ^^^^ yep. If they are updating like 6 pages in one episode and there are 2 episodes a week? yah.. no way.

There are comics I've subscribed to but haven't gotten around to going their archives...so they keep updating and the archives keep getting bigger....oyyy. ^^; There are a couple I did read at first but kind of lost interest in though, but I'm also one of those people who doesn't really....unsub. XP My interest in the comic may be rekindled for all I know as I often take a look at them once in a while anyway.

As far as I remember I've only unsubbed to one comic because I didn't care for it's content after a while.

I'm exactly opposite : D if someone updates often, it gets me more involved with the story. Even if I don't really have time, it's nice to read few episdes at once after few days. But if update is once a month or something like this, I forget what was earlier and it's not a story for me anymore but random pages.

It's not that I've stopped reading some. I've caught up on a few series (including yours) that I try to stay consistent with reading each new page, since it's not that hard to read a new one at a time. However, I do have some comics I'm subscribed to that I plan to read, but I will have to go through many pages to catch up, so I wait until that once in a blue moon circumstance where I will have time and feel like catching up to the current page. Most of the time, I'm working on my comic in the little spare moments I have, so reading is a little hard to fit into my schedule.

I can see your point here, I just sometimes feel like I get so far behind and I sort of give up. Especially if the comic isn't easy to read. Comics like the Pucca one or some others have great re-read value, so I don't mind going back and catching up or re-reading or whatever.

XD I guess it just depends. There are comics I just can't wait for them to update!

Yeah, there are quite a few one my list that I want to read but haven't got the time for at the moment. It's the same with films and games, I need to be in the right mood for them. Plus I'd never start at film one hour into it and try to judge it from there so if I'm going to read someone's story the least I can do it start at the beginning, but in some cases the beginning may be 500 pages away.

It's like a library I'm keeping. I'll get around to them eventually.

This is me too. I'm definitely a binge reader at heart so my subs double as library to eventually go through. There are comics I'm going to read but haven't started yet, comics I've started but didn't have time to binge everything, and comics that I'm basically caught up but waiting for a few pages to accumulate before reading again. It's rather rare for me to actually read at the same pace as they update. And it has nothing to do with the amount of love I have for them. Long form comics just work best in bigger chunks.

And I'm horrible at managing my comic reading time. if I start reading a comic, I'll probably keep doing so for the next few hours skipping from series to series ,so most of the time I really can't just check one page at a time. :'D Gotta work instead of getting thrown into the comic vortex.

I drop comics if I start not wanting to read them (usually a result of lost interest or inclusion of content I don't want to read/see), but at the moment the only comics on my list that i dont read are the ones that the creator dropped, not me. Some days I wont feel like reading the comics, but i'll read it usually by next update. On the other hand, I dont always look at the notifications from the creators....

If I'm going to permanently give up on reading something, I'll just unsubscribe, but there are certainly comics where I've fallen behind on updates by a couple of months. It's not because I don't like them, it's more likely because I don't have time. This is especially true if they update really often, and the more updates I miss, the harder it is to catch up. I feel bad about it, but I don't want to just skim through a comic that I like, so I wait until I've found some time to sit down and give it a proper read.

I have one or two, where I'll just click on them to remove the update-notification.

I'm not ignoring them so much as I'm letting them update a whole bunch before I sit down and read a bunch of pages in one go - some comics work better like that. I believe my own comic does, because I see that pattern with my readers - some of them read page by page, while others let it go a couple of weeks and then read an entire chapter in one go.

If one of the comics on my reading list stops being enjoyable - if I don't like the way the story is going, or if the characters stop being interesting, or whatever - I'll unsubscribe.

This is actually good point. I used to think it'd be great to get as much as possible. Then I subbed to comic like that and was like '..I want to get off this wild ride and come back when it's finished'.

I mostly stop reading when I notice I'm not interested, or having trouble to recall what happened in last update.

My personal view on this is binge readers. whatever form, you'll noticed that the sub to view ratio is half (1:2) only on longform narrative driven stories. Your slice of life and gag a day more or less maintain a 1:1 because of its accessibility and relatability to everyday life and short read times. Narractives tend to get stack up for a binge later in a month or two.

I find it interesting that a fair few responses are you no longer interested in the story but remained subbed. Also the updated to frequently too, I think the later is a creator vs reader maybe? some readers are gagging for more so the quick updates benefits them (look at LINE) whereas creator are busy creating content and are pressed for time.

I try to sub to comics that I actually want to read. If I find that I've started to drop off one then I do unsubscribe. But like some have mentioned it's sometimes difficult to get the time to read it all and any that are on my subbed list, I will and want to get around to at some point. It's always easier when I'm caught up with a comic.

Yeah, I was also surprised to see a lot of answers saying "it updates too frequently so I'll never catch up!" I think this might be a good theory but since I don't fall in that category (I like giving and seeing frequent updates personally) it makes me wonder...

I think the problem here could be either: The comic update 1 page per day, which can be really annoying to read so I usually ended up binge read them. (I much prefer creator combine all their page into a longer chapter and update it once and for all) OR (rare occasion) the comic update 1 chapter per day. THAT IS A LOT TO READ EVERYDAY so people might get reader burntout.

But to answer the question, yes, I do sub to a lot of comics that I ended up ignoring the update notification because I'm busy doing something else and just want to binge read them on my free time. Only a few series that I pop in for every updated page... actually, like ONCE because the plot is simple and there isn't much for me to binge read on.

Iiii might the one who ignores frequent updates, also the ones that update fillers often that I forgot to read. For the ones that I really like and those who comments on mine often... I tend to do the same for them :'D
