Are you annoyed when creators post livestream links?

I heard some people are annoyed when they see a post in in their activity tab and it turns out to be a livestream. I'm not sure how else to let people know when I'm streaming, though. Any thoughts?

How I feel about it:

Very annoying - more than 1 notice for the same stream session (e.g. "I'm STILL streaming! Come on in!" after they'd already posted a link)

Also annoying - way more streams/ notices than actual comic updates.

If I could turn off all stream notices on Tapastic, I would do that in a heartbeat. Creators I'm interested in watching, chances are I'm already subbed to them on Picarto. Getting notified more than once for the same thing (e.g. on Tapastic and Picarto) really annoys me. It's not really the creator's fault, though.

What IS the creator's fault... is when people make wall post notifications about their comic update. Look, I already got that notification in the other feed!!!

honestly the only reason i ever get annoyed by wall posts is because they share the same space as feedback notifications.

other than that, it's just a matter of clickin on 'em all to check if there's any relevant news and it's no trouble at all to me.

its not a huge deal to me because i don't usually check notifications anyway, i like to read my comics in large chunks so i'll tend to leave it for a few weeks before checking comics i sub.

I don't think it's annoying, some fans don't have any other means (twitter, tumblr, etc.) of knowing about a stream so it's only fair that you share a notification about it to make sure everyone knows about it. It's when it's constant reposts for the same exact stream that it gets a little bothersome (To me personally i dunno about anyone else). I wouldn't worry too much about it, some people aren't interested in streams and there's no controlling their opinions on that.

I don't care when its only once or twice a week (maybe even three). I did unsubscribe from one artist because they were announcing streams literally every day.

It doesn't annoy me, usually, because it's one of those things I file under "relevant information". Not every follower who might be interested will also be following the creator on Twitter/Tumblr/wherever, so making a wallpost here is a good way to reach them.

... But then, I only follow creators where who tend to be fairly restrictive with wallposts? Like, none of them spam nonsense-posts, and none of them do streams every day, and so on. And I'm not subscribed to a ton of comics either. My notifications are usually pretty chill.

yes, especially when it's done a lot. I also unsubscribed from a comic because they'd post about it daily including the "still streaming come join" parts.

Streaming is nice but don't over-do it. If you stream a lot, like daily it might be an idea to announce a certain time when you stream. Or stream when you post an update and announce it along with that.

Personally I don't use wall posts, if I have an announcement of any kind I add it in the text box when I update an episode. It will probably be read more that way too. And if I really want to make something stand out I'll add a little chibi comic about it and post it under the episode.

Seconding what some people are saying about daily stream notifications or multiple notifications for the same stream— that's just too many notifications! No, thank you.

BUT I do really like it when creators post links less frequently— I would never complain about someone posting a weekly stream link, for example (in fact, I follow one or two people who post about it every week or two weeks, and I really appreciate it!)

Don't click on notifications of people who share that they're streaming a lot. So I might be missing out cool artworks or important notices... I'm not annoyed by it, I'm just not interested most of the time.
I still do think Tapastic should make a separate icon for wall-post notification, because it's hard to keep 'm apart from likes and comments on busier days.

Same here. It won't make me unsub from a comic but as I don't bother clicking on some artists's wall posts (because 99% are just livestream notifications) I will definitely miss some things..

Eh, yeah, I would like it if there were two different "notification" things, because I do sometimes get a little bummed out when I see there's notifications, but it's a wall post. I follow pretty much everyone whose comic and art I like on Twitter/Tumblr, so I'd prefer to get stream notifications through Twitter personally.

itd be annoying if it was constantly the wrong timezone for me, but i dont really mind? if a creator i really like is doing a livestream, i definitely wanna know each livestream.

i think itd be better to encourage subscribers to follow the artist on picarto (or whatever else allows it) so they can notified directly with each stream, then they dont have to worry about clogging their page.

mmm yeah it's not annoying to me but I also haven't followed anyone who's spammed it/posted streams daily. (I don't really see the point in posting about the same stream more than once on tapastic since unlike other sites like tumblr or twitter, your stream isn't getting buried, and that's usually why someone posts more than once on those sites, but I guess some people just get in the habit or just want to make sure people know it's still going?? I'd probably still wind up just ignoring it if this were the case cuz I'm usually too busy to attend streams these days, anyway.)

As others have pointed out, it's the only way to let some folks know you're streaming. They're easy enough to ignore. Well, for me anyway, since I don't check notifications that often in the first place, especially lately (So behind on comments... I gotta make time to respond to 'em before monday), but I could understand someone finding that disappointing if they have the time to keep up with things and are expecting it to be something else.

Haven't seen one so far, but I'm annoyed when I see them on other sites and the streaming is already off! They should make a page where you can find active streams and filter them, like show only authors that you are subscribed to and all streams!
